“Cassidy is great with Brin and Tunie. She's part of the pack now. I appreciate her willingness to go above and beyond, and her care for my dog and cat. My family has been going through some struggles and it's great to know that the pets are well cared for while I go tend to family members. Her flexibility with schedules and needs is amazing.”

“Alexia was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly kind, responsive, and flexible with our schedule, which made everything so easy and stress-free. Most importantly, you could tell she genuinely cared about our pets and treated them like they were her own. She spent so much time playing with our cats and making sure they were happy and comfortable while we were away. She even went above and beyond by helping with the vacuum, water fountain, and Litter-Robot, which we really appreciated. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets and home were in such great hands. We would absolutely recommend Alexia and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

About: With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs, I bring more than just pet sitting—I bring genuine love, patience, and a deep understanding of canine behavior. Dogs in my care enjoy a safe, comfortable, home-like environment where they can relax, play, and feel like part of the family. I specialize in dog training and behavior and have experience raising puppies, caring for senior dogs, and working with trained service dogs. I understand that every dog has different needs, routines, personalities, and comfort levels. Your peace of mind matters too. I provide regular photo updates, check-in calls, and FaceTime when requested, so you can see your dog, stay connected, and feel confident they’re being well cared for while you’re away. My goal is simple: treat your dog like family and give you the peace of mind that they’re in good hands. As a retired Army veteran who works from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to give pets consistent attention throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. My routine includes regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, training, and plenty of companionship. I also make time to monitor each dog’s behavior and comfort level, especially with puppies, seniors, and dogs with specific routines or needs. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide a calm, home-like environment with frequent supervision and individualized care. I treat every dog in my home like family and make their safety, comfort, and happiness a priority. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, dog-friendly home environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. Dogs receive plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, walks, and affection throughout the day rather than being left alone for extended periods. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications when appropriate, exercise, training, and special care instructions. I’m especially comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with specific behavioral or training needs. I also understand how important it is for owners to feel connected while they’re away. I provide regular photo updates and am happy to offer check-in calls or FaceTime so you can see how your pet is doing. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, my goal is to create a safe, respectful, and stress-free experience for both you and your pet.

“My rescue dog hasn't been very accepting of anyone coming into my home no matter how kind they were ....until meeting Charlayne. Almost immediately I saw the difference in my dog's responses. She was curious and would scoot closer to her seeking affection. Now she's a velcro-puppy. 😄 Brings me such peace of mind. I had read through so many bios and reviews and I really liked her background which included dog training knowledge. I needed someone who understood how to work with dogs and how to interpret their body language to gain their trust. Charlayne is exactly what my dog and I needed!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all personalities and energy levels. I’ve house sat and cared for dogs in their own homes, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while their owners are away. I’m very active with my own dog and go to the dog park daily, so I’m confident handling playful, energetic dogs as well as more relaxed ones. I prioritize safety, consistency, and giving every pet the same love and attention I give my own. I have a flexible schedule and am able to give your pets lots of time and attention. I do have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 2pm, but I’m available before and after, as well as all day on other days. I’m usually home, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I make sure they get regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, including trips to the dog park for exercise and socialization. I live in a very dog-friendly apartment complex with a large dog park available for safe play and exercise. I take pets out for regular potty breaks every 2 to 4 hours and make sure they stay on a consistent routine. I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. I always prioritize their safety, whether that means supervising playtime, following feeding schedules, or crating if requested by the owner.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for a couple of years and have experience caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. I’m comfortable with puppies as well as senior dogs who may be hard of hearing or losing their sight, and I always make sure they feel safe and comfortable. During visits I can provide feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention. I aim to follow each pet’s routine closely so they feel relaxed while their owners are away. My goal is to provide dependable, caring service so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I schedule feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and attention around my baby’s naps and feeding times, so your pets always feel safe, loved, and happy. I plan longer walks or extra play sessions during calm times, making sure both pets and family stay comfortable and cared-for throughout the week. While caring for your pets in your home, I follow the routines and instructions provided by you to ensure consistency and comfort. This includes feeding, providing fresh water, letting dogs outside for potty breaks, cleaning litter boxes, offering playtime or walks, and giving lots of attention and reassurance. About: I’ve had big AND small dogs my entire childhood! I’ve also taken care of horses, steers, pigs, chickens, birds (exotic), dogs, cats! After growing up with only dogs and small house pets (hamsters, crabs, fish, frogs, and lizards)In my adulthood, my husband and I have opened our home to several rescues through the six years we’ve been together. At our home we consider ourselves “last owners” animals come to us to live out the rest of their lives, comfortable and loved. We’ve been by the side of 6 rescue birds, a few kittens and one chameleon to watch them cross over the rainbow bridge, and complete their journey. Between Gage (my husband) and I we have 10 cats (willow, meadow, sushi, pumpkin, chai, jenny, lucifer, salem, peggy & naruto) 5 birds (blanca, bleezy, grim, puffer & mongo bongo - she’s a 46 year old scarlett macaw! - ) 1 dog, (chief) 1 chameleon (pascal) and 1 scalata tortoise (torchy) ! we are obviously big animal lovers!! In conclusion, We both have tons of experience around all species of animal and we want your trip to be focused on enjoying YOUR vacation plans, and not worried about if your fur babies were left in the wrong hands! Most of my clients do not have children and their pet is their child. I want to you as the parent of your sweet baby, to be confident when you walk out the door knowing i’ll be there I can not wait to care for all of your babies, fur or reptile! please feel free to reach out to me send ask about my process of meeting the baby and we can discuss pricing! (if it’s too expensive DONT PANIC! we can communicate and i will really take whatever you’d like to pay. I understand vacations are very expensive and I don’t want you to have to choose between a fun tour or activity with you family vs having adequate care for your baby while you’re away. If you think i’m perfect for your home and baby, please let me know what you can pay and i will always work it out! I AM WILLING TO DRIVE AND TRAVEL TO YOU (OUT OF STATE) MY MILAGE IS SET TO 100 MILES LETS TALK!) My husband and I currently have 5 birds, a dog, and a seven kittens, we also are thinking about getting a bearded dragon and we currently have a scalata tortoise! We’re big animal lovers and would love to take care of any your sweet babies! We’re pretty flexible, I’m a full time ROVER sitter!! He works at Total Wine in Cedar Hill. If I’m not available my husband definitely is! Currently my husband works at Total Wine & More in Cedar Hill. When I / we stay in your home I will most likely be there all day! Rover is my full time job so whatever care your baby needs I’ll make sure to be on top of it! Most bookings I would like to keep my husband with me wherever I am (just for safety reasons), BUT if you’re not comfortable with that I TOTALLY understand and I’m more than willing to stay without my husband!! I want to do whatever makes YOU AND YOUR BABIES safe, happy and comfortable!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
