“This was my first time using the app. We’re so thankful to have had Ms. Paula host Bentley. She kept me up to date on him and kept him comfortable until he was ready to mingle with the other dogs. Now he has new friends.”
“I can never say enough about about her wonderful services. My dog is older and has some special abilities that need to be tended to. She has dogs herself that are gentle and playful that supplies my dog with a plenty of playmates. She also never kenneled my dog which was a big worry for me. Time and time again I would never choose anyone else to take care of my sweet boy.”
About: Hi we are Don and Bobbi! We both have grown up around dogs our entire lives and have always been passionate about caring for animals. Between our families, we’ve had many dogs and cats over the years, giving us experience with pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. Today, we have two dogs and a cat of our own and understand the importance of providing pets with love, attention, exercise, and a safe environment. We’ve also pet sat for friends and family and have enjoyed getting to know and care for their pets as if they were our own. We decided to join Rover because we love spending time with animals and thought it would be a fun way to help other pet owners feel confident that their pets are receiving excellent care while they’re away. We understand our profile is new with no reviews but we promise to provide exceptional care and hope to show that through reviews as we get settled on this app! Bobbi works from home Monday-Friday and Don works from home Monday and Friday. Someone will always be home to care for your animals! Our flexible schedules allow pet care to be a priority. We have a massive yard for the dogs to run around and are constantly going on leashed walks near our house. Our house is their house and we are happy to play with your pup as much as they need!
“Sheri and her family took wonderful care of Kimber. He went on fun adventures and clearly received a lot of love and attention. I could not be happier to have found such an amazing sitter. 100/10!!!!!! Kimber can't wait to go back.”

“Heather & her family were a great match for Mía. From the Meet & Greet, to drop off, asking how to best care for her, and pick up…they were responsive, informative, and caring. Thank you!”
“Jesse was so great with Zoey. He sent lots of photos, took her on a lot of walks and spent cuddle time with her. It’s clear he truly loves animals. We’d love for Zoey to stay with Jesse again.”
“Terry was great! Terry is very caring, responsive, and sent pictures to show us how much fun Simon was having. Can't wait to have her care for our Schnoodle baby again. :)”
“Cindy is a great dog sitter. She has always been very accommodating in such short notice and has been flexible when I had to do late pick-ups!! She always provides great updates & feedback. I appreciate her so much for always being accommodating and the care she provides my doodle Coco Rose.”
About: I have had pets my whole life and enjoy playing and socializing with them. I have walked other peoples dogs and taken care of friends and neighbors cats. I'm currently working part-time so I'll have plenty of time to take care of your pets needs. I have a very flexible schedule. And I can work around your needs. I have a fenced in yard and I have a cat that is used to being around a dog. I love to go on walks and to be outside so I can go on lots of short walks or long walks, whatever is needed. We can run in the backyard off leash if that is preferred.
“Excellen all around! Great communication before and during our trip, with lots of consideration for the dogs’ routines and comfort. Loved all the photos that showed us the dogs were having a great time at “camp” — knowing they were in good hands let us enjoy our trip all the more. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”
“Joy and her family took great care of our Bernedoodle and provided updates daily. They put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our vacation knowing she was in good hands!”
“Andreea did a great job sitting my dog. She was easy to work with and I could tell my dog felt comfortable from the time I dropped her off until instead Ickes her up. She sent photos and let me know how she was doing during her stay. I highly recommend her and I will definitely be using her again.”
“Kendra did amazing Niko!! She let us know how he did every single day with a detailed explanation which made me feel super comfortable. She kept my mind at ease. Will forever be going to Kendra ❤️”

“She took very good care of Vienna and was patient with her as she got used to a new place and dogs. I appreciated all the photos and video. By the time Vienna left, she was having a great time!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Michaux home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Michaux.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Michaux sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
