“Mary did a fantastic job caring for our pups! One of our pups developed a problem with his leg before our trip; Mary handled him expertly allowing him to heal. Upon our return, our dogs were happy and healthy. I highly recommend Mary for conscientious and loving care of pets!”

“Alyssa was great with Nua for my 9 day trip. Nua was calm and relaxed when I returned, a sign that she was happy with Alyssa. My house and the cat' areas were clean and well cared for. Very happy and impressed with Alyssa! I look forward to hiring Alysa again for future travels.”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life and started housesitting professionally about 7 years ago. I have 4 of my own cats that I have cared for most of my life including my elderly cat that I got when she was a kitten. Since then I have taken care of many different kinds of animals in different settings. I have years of experience with elderly dogs and cats that need timely medical attention as well as kittens and puppies and households with multiple animals. Some of the dogs I have cared for have behavioral issues or required medical attention several times a day; including diabetic dogs that need to be given insulin injections and also have their blood sugar levels checked throughout the day. Some other animals I have taken care of include a koi pond and other various fish and fish tanks and Guinea Pigs. I work part time and have lots of time to play and stay with pets, my work schedule is weekly so if you are concerned about specific timing please contact me! I often adjust my schedule and routine depending on what my clients and the animals needs are and what they would like me to do.

“Jessie is amazing! She took the best care of our pets and sent cute photos, which we appreciated. She also was trustworthy, responsive, professional and delightful. She was very tidy and helpful with other household needs. We will definitely work with Jessie again. She is fantastic!!”

“Danielle is the perfect house sitter. She took perfect care of my dog, Ruger, keeping me updated with regular pictures and videos. She was also extremely respectful of my home, leaving it very clean. If I need to travel again, I will absolutely reach out to Danielle for her support, I can’t recommend highly enough.”

“Charlene was great! She was on time, communicated well, left my home spotless and it appears my dogs loved her. I definitely recommend her and would use her services again if the need arises.”

“Carissa did an amazing job caring for our dogs and cat while we were on vacation. She sent regular updates and pics and videos. I didn’t worry one bit while we were gone. She had hands full since he of our dogs is still a puppy and she handled everything so well. We will definitely have her stay with our fur babies again. Thank you, Carissa!!”

About: I have had many years of housesitting experience with came with caring for pets. I have also worked at a pet store and handled bathing dogs. I am free weekdays and weekends and am open to staying at a home for multiple days. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be attending class 9:40 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. I have a friendly dog, a kitten and two outdoor cats as well as a fenced yard with tons of dog toys, treats and a small kennel. I make sure any hazardous things such as cleaning products and other harmful substances are out of the pet’s way and give frequent potty breaks. I take into account their feeding schedule and any medicine they may need.
About: I have had pets all my life...birds, cats, hamsters, mice, fish, turtles & more. I bred & raised several of the small breeds mentioned here. I got pretty heavy into breeding Pomeranians for the most part. Then one day I met & fell in love with my first toy poodle. I named her Precious. I have been hooked ever since. I learned how to train dogs about 20 years ago. I have been doing it ever since. My two poodles I taught to do tricks. What else should I do with a 3 1/2 lb doggy? I have had quite some experience giving different kinds of medicines to dogs. So I feel pretty comfortable handling that task. I have taken care of many owners' pets in the past but that was before I have ever heard of Rover. I am home a lot, and only gone on doctor appointment days. I am available most weekends and most holidays. I only leave for the big ones like Christmas and Thanksgiving. As a rule, I am pretty flexible. I live in a house with a fenced deck and fenced yard. There is stairs to my garden. Ask more, if this concerns you. My 2 friendly toy poodles get plenty of exercise running up and down the stairs to the deck and among my beautiful garden. There are several very close areas to walk dogs within 5 minutes driving of my house. Also, we have a dog park 10 min away. Here's a PLUS....I literally live 30 min from the northern gate entrance to Yosemite National Park, (our 3rd National Park). So, if you plan a trip to hit the snow, hike to its many waterfalls, bike or take a nice relaxing float down the lazy class 2 Merced River in Yosemite......contact ME. You can't take dogs on these ventures...

“Tabi, Mia and Sadie let us know that Shuree took excellent care of our dogs for 7 days. She stayed with them and fed and medicated them. She took them for a walk and kept them safe. She was very responsive to my questions and sent cute photos of them. We will use her services again and can recommend her to others.”

“Autumn did a great job. Nicky, Misty and Cooper were plenty happy and relaxed when we got home. The house was in the shape that we left it, and hopefully Autumn enjoyed her time at the house with our babies. We would definitely ask her back.”
About: I’ve trained my German Shepherd from puppyhood, cared for senior large dogs with patience and skill, and successfully trained a small-to-medium puppy for another family. I spend each day surrounded by my dog, two cats, and parakeet, giving them consistent care, attention, and love. I’m passionate about animals and make their well-being, enrichment, and comfort a natural part of my daily routine. I care for pets in their home by following all routines, keeping their environment safe, and providing constant, attentive supervision. I ensure they feel comfortable, secure, and well-loved while you’re away.
About: I have been caring for pets as long as I can remember. My family always had family dogs and cats when I was growing up in addition to the occasional turtle, bird, and fish. I’m very comfortable with any animal you may own with four legs and have experience in providing care for special needs dogs including giving medication as needed. I currently have two cats and two rabbits of my own so I know how important it is that your pets get the proper care and attention. Currently I am in my off season waiting for the fire season to start back up in June. Luckily for you that means that I am available every day of the week, excluding a few hours on Sundays for church but I can happily still make sure your pets aren’t alone for the rest of the day. I have my phone with myself more often than not so please reach out anytime. Whatever your preferences are for your pets I am happy to accommodate! I am very active and love to play with animals that like to play or chill with those that are more laid back. Your pets are important to you and I pride myself on being someone that you can be confident and comfortable with having your pets in good hands.
About: I have always had the responsibility of caring for my own animals, but I love getting to help other people care for their pets. I love meeting new animals and have lots of experience in this area. I have been walking dogs around my neighborhood since I was about 10 years old. I loved this experience which is why I have decided to dedicate myself to this line of work so I can always be available to help an animal in need. Currently I work an evening shift at a restaurant 4 nights a week so I have the day open before 5 pm Friday through Monday and Tuesday Wednesday Thursday I am completely available. My schedule also will be opening up more soon. I have a very large area for dogs to run around and two very friendly dogs of my own. I always start by making sure the space is free of any hazards, like toxic plants or loose wires and that they have a cozy spot just for them. Building trust is key, so I take things slow, using positive reinforcement like treats and praise to create a bond. Whether it's playtime or just chilling, I'm all about keeping their routine consistent to minimize stress.
About: Hello! I’ve been house/pet sitting for around 5 years now. I have experience with a variety of animals at all stages of life. I will follow your directions to the letter and care for your babies as if they were my own. I have had pets since I was five until recently. I currently am looking to add clients for pet care. Let’s chat and see if we mesh! I currently do gigs, mostly pet sitting, right now for income. So thats where my focus is these days! I take daily walks and would be sure to bring your baby with me! I am getting into grooming to add as a service to my clients. Currently I do not have any pets myself. My parents do have a dog and when I am there I take him out for walks and runs, brush him, love on him. I would follow your directions as to how to care for the baby animals.
“Zuki was a happy dog when we got home. Kinny sent us pics while we were traveling and it seems that Zuki enjoyed Kinny being with her. We highly recommend Kinny and would love to work with her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mi-Wuk Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mi-Wuk Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mi-Wuk Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
