“Kaitlin is great! She was able to accommodate a last minute request to come let our dogs out! She responds promptly, sends photos of the dogs during her visit. Highly recommend Kaitlin!”

About: Hey there! My name is Jennifer, and I absolutely love animals! I have been lucky enough to have doggos in my home pretty much my whole life. I’ve also volunteered at rescues, so I have some experience with many different dog breeds, personalities, and temperaments. I specifically have experience with caring for short-nosed breeds, such as English and French bulldogs, pugs, etc and all that entails. Deaf dogs, senior dogs, medical dogs, puppies…. No problem! If you have to be out of the house, whether for work, vacation, or other commitments leaving your pet alone for a stretch, I’m available to make sure they get some attention and time outside while you do what you need to do! I’ll take care of your fur kiddos, so they feel loved and happy. We can go for a nice long walk to get some energy out, play fetch, or just bum around the house while I give your baby all my attention. I’ve had experience with dogs big and small, rescues who weren’t social with other dogs and needed to be walked away from other pups, giving medicine.... you name it! I’d be happy to take social dogs out to parks, or on longer stays, I’m happy to take your pup paddle boarding or kayaking if you’d like. As long as I know what you’d like for your pup, I’ll do everything in my power to make that happen. Thanks for stopping by! If my schedule is showing free, I am home and off work. Happy to swing by and help out with whatever pet care you need! I may be available other dates and times too, dependent on my work schedule. I am always cognizant of the environment when out with your pet, watching for other animals and making sure the pavement isn’t too hot in the warmer months. For the short-nosed breeds, limiting time out in the heat and making sure for plenty of water after!
“I feel like Chewy is in good hands with Liz and truly believe Liz likes Chewy. We will always use her when we need a Rover. Plus anytime you want to come over and say hi to him, you are more than welcome”

“Eric did a great job with our two labs. They are high energy dogs, but were properly worn out when I got home. Great communication, regular updates throughout the visit.”

“We met with Grace to house sit for us. We had to cancel our trip but plan to use her in the future. She’s a very nice person and seems interested in taking the best possible care of our dogs. We had some scheduling issues online and she was very patient working that out.”

“Shaelie is such a passionate care giver for animals. I could tell during our meet and greet that she really enjoys caring for animals. She made an exception to sit my rabbit shaped cat and was clear with communication and socializing with my rabbit seems natural for her. The photos she sent me definitely reflect a happy visit with my rabbit. 10/10 we would book again!”

“Thank You so much Emily! We appreciate your flexibility with our additional visit requests and look forward to see Bruce on your Facebook page! Our son is so proud of his “kitty star”!”

About: Growing up my neighbors always had dogs and we often took care of them while they were away, which is where my love for dogs began. In college my roommate bought a puppy and I helped her raise it for the first 2 years until we graduated. During this time, my responsibilities were being the first one to take her out to the bathroom in the morning, being that I was always the first one awake! Also because I enjoy going for runs, I was the one who brought Finn on daily walk/runs, while also helping train her to live inside our house. Also, in college, the family I nannied bought a puppy and I helped them through the first steps of training her. During this process I really learned the steps of how to care for dogs being that I was the one taking care of her from 7-5 each day. I am looking into adopting a puppy of my own now, but I wish to be more financially stable before I get one. So to satisfy my puppy fever, for now I hope to dog sit and dog walk until I can afford one of my own!
About: I’ve been around and taken care of pets since I was a child. I have experience with animals with health issues as well, so that’s no problem! I also volunteered at the Morrison County Humane Society in high school. I’m a college student during the school year and do not have a full time job. I pick up hours as the weeks go on, so pet care is a perfect opportunity to let me be productive while also loving it. I will not care for animals in my home as I live in an apartment complex. I will gladly come to your home and travel within my area.
About: Years of dog experience from puppies to hospice dogs. Your pet is just as important to me & will receive great care! Lots of love, treats, exercise & opportunities to socialize & play under supervision! I live & work in Grand Rapids Thursday evening to Tuesday afternoon. Multiple walks daily ranging from .5 to 2 miles! Lots of trails and opportunities to explore supervised!
About: I’ve always cared for family pets and currently own two cats, one of which is happily trained to wear the elaborate sweaters I make him and goes on daily walks on a leash. I am comfortable with any special needs that may arise such as giving meds or other basic vet care, and enjoy working with all kinds of animals. Let my flexible schedule fit into your routine! I am available days, evenings, and weekends. I know how disruptive time away cat be for your pet — I’m happy to do what I can to keep the normalcy flowing for them. I am happy to follow all guidelines you have about your pet’s care, from leashed outside visits only to regular ear scritches. I care for pets how I would want mine to be treated — safely, and with compassion.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
