Pet care experience

I LOVE Animals and they LOVE me!!!

I worked as a veterinarian’s assistant for two years when I was a teenager. My whole life has been animal centric. After retiring from the Airlines, and since my daughter lives in Seattle and I am missing my grand doggy (Terrier Mix-JoJo) I need surrogates!!! I have donated my time to walk dogs at my local animal pound and I view animals just as important as people with feelings, emotions, and sensitivity. I understand that animals get stressed if left alone without their owner. I am eager to first bond with them in a calm manner, getting to know each other before we go paint the town red. Just like when I did daycare with children at my home, your furry friend/'child,' may not care when you come home- sorry/not sorry!? I have a few clients that are not from Rover, and many repeat clients.

Our GSD has megaesophagus. In the 8 years we have had him we have never left him with anyone for a vacation. We started RV’ing because we could have him with us at all times. This trip was to California and we could not take him. We thought we had him secured at a doggie sanctuary but then was told he was too much for them to handle but to check out Rover. This situation left us in a last minute scramble for sure. I got on and immediately messaged a few people and thankfully one of them referred us to Wendy! She is tiny but mighty, and willing to take it all on with enthusiasm and love! .We left her a 4 page agenda including to-do’s for our other furry family members including a rabbit, 3 cats, hamster, lots of fish and a bearded dragon too. Needless to say we were so nervous because it’s a lot to ask but she did it all for 12 days AND took pics for us, giving us feedback everyday. She is a true gem and we are beyond grateful we found her before this trip. We will definitely be asking her for help again if we need it!! Thank you Wendy so very much! You truly are doing what you love and it shows. Do not hesitate to reach out to her. She is beyond amazing! She even cleaned some (vacuumed, shook rugs and mopped if needed) and put our trash out on trash day!!

My first experience using Rover and I really lucked out with Wendy. She was communicative and kept my mind at ease while we were gone for 6 nights and 7 days. She’s not kidding when she says your dogs won’t care when you come home. One of mine is a crazy English bulldog that loses her mind and acts like she hasn’t seen us for days, even if we are gone for 15 minutes. She could care less that we were back. This tells me she was well loved and got plenty of play time. 100% recommend Wendy!

Wendy is absolutely wonderful! We have several pets and some have complicated care instructions. She did a great job with meds and making sure everyone was taken care of!

Wendy was fantastic! She was available within a few days’ notice to stay at our house and watch our dog while we were out of the country for 5 nights. She sent daily updates and kept us well-informed. We felt so much better knowing our dog was in the comfort of his own home instead of a kennel. We will certainly use her again!
