I have an 11-year-old dog, Mishka, who is friendly but can be selective about which dogs she feels comfortable with. Because she is older, her comfort and wellbeing are very important to me, and I don’t want to put her under unnecessary stress. For this reason, before confirming an overnight stay at my home, I require a pre-visit and introduction with Mishka and the dog. This allows us to see how they get along in a calm, controlled environment and make sure everyone is comfortable before the stay is booked. I believe this is important for both dogs and gives the owner peace of mind that their pet will be staying in a safe and suitable environment.

Every pet is different, so I always follow their normal routine as closely as possible. My goal is for them to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed while you’re away. A typical day might start with a morning walk and some quality time together, followed by breakfast according to their usual feeding schedule. Throughout the day, I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles and rest — depending on what they enjoy. For dogs, I make sure they get appropriate walks and exercise, while also giving them time to sniff, explore and simply be themselves. For cats and smaller animals, I focus on their individual routine, feeding, cleaning and spending time with them so they don't feel alone. I pay attention to their behaviour and make sure they are eating, drinking and behaving normally. If anything seems unusual, I will let you know. I also like to keep owners updated with photos and little messages throughout the day, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Most importantly, I don't see pet sitting as simply feeding an animal and leaving. I want your pet to receive the same patience, attention and love I would give my own.
