Hello my fellow pet parents! My family and I recently moved to Portland from NYC, and after some time away, I decided to start my sitter account back up in Beaverton! I was a Rover sitter for over 5 years back in NYC servicing mostly my neighborhood, the Upper East Side! I did a range of services from walking dogs, checked in on cats, dogs or rabbits, boarded in my home and housesat for families. I find so much joy in doing Rover being able to hang with your fur babies, ensure comfort knowing they’re in good hands, and give them as much love and attention they need. For all my cat parents, I am a proud cat mom and would love to meet your cat babies. I would take care of them as if they were my own, and I totally understand different behavioral issues so please let me know what I can do to make your kitty the most comfortable! For my dog parents, I’m also a proud dog mom! We moved my husband’s 10 year old English Bulldog from Maui to NYC to now Portland. I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. I am comfortable with all breeds, I’d just like to know what they like, don’t like, and any behavioral issues I need to be aware of. My gallery of photos will show all the pups and kitties I’ve cared for from walks to drop-in to day care and boarded. You will also see my kitties, Loma and Roo, playing with the fur friends that come and visit or stay with us at our home. My work schedule is very flexible as I work from home, so I can walk dogs or check on your kitties when needed. With my work schedule being flexible, I figured applying for Rover would be great way to help all my fellow pet lovers. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

I’m so grateful for Vanessa! Should took care of our kitties while we were on a long vacation, and she was highly communicative, sent great photos, problem solved anything that came up, and gave the kitties so much love. It was clear they had been really well cared for while we were gone.

Vanessa was awesome! She’s super communicative and always sends lots of updates and pics. My cat can be very anxious about pet sitters in our apartment but Vanessa was really patient with her. She went out of her way to make sure my cat was comfortable with her there. I would definitely highly recommend!

Schedule
I work from home and my work is international, so it allows me the flexibility during the day! I am able to schedule meetings between rover jobs.

Safety, trust & environment
For my home, I make sure it is puppy/ dog proof, as it is already cat proof with my 2 cat babies. If the pet has a crate, I will use it as owner requested. I always like to spend time at home more to watch my cats and their new furry friend adjusting to each other and hanging out with them. I will take your dogs on walk, like I would for my own dog back home or for my Rover pups! Mainly, directions that are provided will be followed to a tee.

A typical day
DOGS: I love providing lots of love with scratches, belly rubs, and/or treats (if allowed). I would love to take them on a walk and get their energy out. CATS: for drop-ins, I will feed, refresh water bowl, scoop litter and anything else needed to be done. If the cat allows it, i love to sit and play with their favorite toy or give them lots of love, belly or head rubs. Boarding: I have 2 super playful and friendly cats that love making new friends, as long as they are nice to them. They are patient with cats who need time to adjust and just eager to play and hang out.

- I have no preference on breed. I do want to know their behavioral issues, if any, how they get along with cats, their behavior on walks, any thing they love or would comfort them, what scares them or they don't like, what I need to be aware of, etc. BOARDING: Please make sure they are all up-to-date on their vaccines and rabies shot and flea/tick medication. For cats, PLEASE make sure they are FIV negative and safe to be around other cats. Flea/tick medication is also up to date.
