Hey everyone! I’m Teresa, and here’s a little bit about my experience. I’ve been caring for animals for over five years now, and I absolutely love it. It’s so much fun meeting new animals, getting to know their little personalities, and making sure they feel safe and happy. I’ve always loved animals, having grown up with everything from guinea pigs and cats to dogs. Before moving to London just over a year ago, I lived with my sister and brother-in-law and helped raise their beagle x spaniel, Maisy, from puppyhood. I also had my family cats, who sadly passed within the last year at the ripe old age of 19. So, to say I’m au fait with the needs of animals of all ages is a fair statement. Alongside my family pets, I often visited my brother-in-law’s family farm, where there are pigs, chickens, donkeys, cows, sheep, horses, and plenty of dogs roaming around so I’m very comfortable around animals of all kinds. Outside of my family home, over the past three years and across both sides of the world, I’ve regularly house and pet sat for colleagues and through sites like TrustedHousesitters, becoming a trusted part of their roster of sitters. When I settled in London, I moved in with my two friends in Clapham, where I helped raise their new puppy, Polly, for many months until I moved to Shoreditch in April this year. Since relocating, I’ve kept up my dog aunty duties, regularly caring for Polly whenever needed. I’m keen to care for as many furry companions as possible. Living and working in London can be quite the juggle, and sometimes pets don’t get the attention they need or deserve. If I can step in to help, it’s a real win-win for everyone.
