I'm retired, so pet care fits easily into my day. I’m home the majority of the time and can give your dog plenty of attention, walks, and consistency. We follow a steady routine with one long daily walk, a shorter walk later on, playtime in the yard, and lots of companionship throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left waiting or wondering when the next bit of care is coming—they’re part of my daily rhythm.

If I’m in your space, I respect your home and follow your rules exactly—using your preferred walking routes, feeding setup, and safety measures. I monitor dogs closely, avoid risky situations, and make sure they’re never left unsupervised. My goal is simple: a safe environment, a predictable routine, and a trustworthy caretaker your dog can relax with.

A typical day is a mix of fresh air and plenty of attention. I start with a relaxed morning walk, followed by breakfast and some quiet time. Later in the day I head out for a longer walk—about an hour—where we explore the neighbourhood or nearby trails at your dog’s pace. Throughout the day we play in the fenced yard, or just hang out together at home. Evenings are for snuggles, gentle play, and a final short walk before bedtime. My goal is to give your dog a day that feels familiar, fun, and reassuring.

I’ve spent my whole life caring for dogs of all kinds—from shepherds and collies to pom-pitz mixes and mutts—and I’m comfortable with everything from easygoing pups to reactive or anxious dogs. I can walk, bathe, and give medications, and I’ll follow your feeding or supplement schedule exactly as you do at home. I host dogs in my quiet home on the edge of town, where they have a fenced yard, no other pets, and plenty of peace. Being retired means your dog gets my full attention: one long walk each day, a shorter one later, and playtime in the yard throughout the day. I’m happy to visit your home as well. I’m not a match for very large or aggressive dogs, but for small to medium pups who need steady care and a calm environment, I’m all in. I’m also taking ongoing online training to keep building my skills. I host up to two dogs but if your dog has special needs or doesn't play well with others, let me know and I will adjust the settings for only one during that time period

Tammy is awesome! My dog was very distraught when I left him for day care the first time - we live very remotely and he rarely get to hang out with new people, so he became frantic when I left and started howling 😬 But Tammy is so calm, kind and gentle that he eventually settled down and was eager to go back the next day! And didn't freak out again, he happily greeted everybody and turned his attention to food 😅This really proves how she turned his difficult first day into a positive experience for him. I'm leaving him now with her for twelve days of boarding, secure in the knowledge that he is not only well looked after, but cared for with compassion.
Tammy was amazing with our two dogs! She kept us updated throughout the whole visit and took them on daily hikes which they loved! Highly recommend, excellent experience!
Tammy was super accommodating for Sitka and I while I was in town for a course. She took Sitka on a hike every morning and was attentive throughout the day. Very easy to communicate with. I would definitely rebook in the future
