Hello! My main reason for joining this website is to have an opportunity to spend some time around cats! I'm a professional, working in the tech industry, living in Stoke Newington and currently working from home. I've been surrounded by cats my whole life. I spent my childhood 'adopting' all the strays, barn and neighbours' kitties. I've owned 3 cats of my own (all rescues), fostered 14 of them and cat-sat around 17. I have also been a house and cat-sitter via TrustedHousesitters website (my subscription has expired unfortunately so my profile is hidden now, but I had three 5-star reviews, and I still have contact details and reviews from people I was house and cat sitting for). I also have reviews on Cat in a Flat (screenshot in the photos). Rescues and fosters that came to me were often in a bad state, either bottle babies and required 24hr care, or injured and sickly, recovering from a surgery or trauma, often very scared. I have cleaned their wounds, changed their bandages, applied and administered medicine and found them homes (or adopted them!) Having a cat around me is simply part of my life! In addition to that, I'm a very practical and resourceful person, and can easily solve and fix many unexpected problems around the house. (If you have a dog, budgie, hamster or guinea pig, in addition to the cat, I have experience there, too!) I don't think there was ever a cat I didn't like and/or didn't get along. I can read their body language well and respect their autonomy and space. If your cat is not the friendly or cuddly type - that's OK! Sometimes I just enjoy watching them play or sleep or listen to their purring - very therapeutic, don't you think? I always send owners daily updates, photos and videos as a reassurance of their pet's well-being and so they don't miss them as much! I'm currently working from home in Stoke Newington area, where I can do 2x daily visits, but can easily cover most of Hackney and Islington for 1x daily visit or overnight stay, as well as longer overnight stays a bit further afield. I'm currently self-employed, working part-time hours from home (from anywhere as long as I have my laptop and WiFi!) and have flexible, self-planned schedule. I'm also free on weekends, unless I'm out of town/country. I'm not able to board the animals in my home, but I'm a practical and responsible person and am well aware of potential dangers to animals and will make sure that your animals are safe in your own home.
