Compassionate critter care 🩷🐾
Pet care experience
I’ve always known my life purpose: to help animals. I’ve been caring for animals since I was a child, and sitting for others’ animals (including companion animals, small animals, reptiles, fish, and farmed animals) for over 20 years. I work at an animal sanctuary, previously worked in companion animal nutrition for nearly 10 years, am a guardian to three rescued dogs, and am working on starting a small animal sanctuary with my partner. I have volunteered with several companion animal and farmed animal sanctuaries/shelters. I love and respect all living creatures, great and small, and align my lifestyle accordingly. I see animals as individuals, deserving of kindness and comfy, peaceful lives. I believe in unwavering compassion, gentleness, and patience, and letting animals move at their own pace and comfort level. I’m all about helping animals feel calm, respecting their boundaries, and giving lots of positive praise. I have extensive experience with dogs and cats of all life stages, temperaments, and with special needs. I can administer medication and subcutaneous fluid, and feed via feeding tube or syringe. I’m passionate about holistic animal care and nutrition and am always happy to give advice or product recommendations, as I want to see all animals thrive! With me, you can expect reliability, proactive and transparent communication, numerous photos, detailed visit notes, and conscious, loving care for your critters. In addition to caring for your critter, I’m happy to grab your mail, water your plants, or do anything of the like at no additional charge.

Reviews

Sonya was absolutely amazing!! She took such great care and understanding to my old dude! I am super grateful go have found Sonya!

I would highly recommend Sonja to care for your pet!

Sonya did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 Pugs. She stopped by to meet my dogs ahead of time so they would be familiar with her and sent several cute pictures during her visits. I would highly recommend her services.

Sonya was a great petsitter! Our pet care plans fell through last minute and she was able to squeeze us in. She was super knowledgeable about having our pups meet for the first time and I think it really smoothed the process! She also sent plenty of pictures throughout the day which made us less nervous about leaving our pup. All in all, if we are in the area again, we would love to use Sonya again!

**PLEASE NOTE: I will not lock dogs or cats in a cage/crate, nor walk a dog with a prong collar, as I believe both are inhumane. Thank you for understanding.**
Information Sonya S. would like to know about your pet
Any history of aggression or behavioral quirks. Any current or ongoing health issues. Your critter’s veterinarian. If I can give them treats and if so, any food allergies/sensitivities. If I’ll be feeding them, how much? Any special instructions? If you have a preferred or recommended route for our walk. How many times a day your dog typically pees and poops (to ensure everything is normal). If you have any additional requests, ie. check mail, water plants, put on TV or radio, turn lights on at night, etc.
A typical day
Take walks for exercise, to go potty, and to smell the roses. Have play time for fun and stimulation. Give loads of pats, hugs, treats, and belly rubs!
