Pet care experience
Throughout the years I have taken care of all sorts of animals-dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, lizards, birds, snakes, and the list goes on. The last fifteen years of my life have been passionately devoted to 3 dogs, 2 have since passed on to greener pastures, and a cat. I have a lot of experience with traumatized dogs, one of mine was rescued from an abusive situation when she was 2 and a half. She didn't know how to eat from a bowl, wasn't house broken, and showed extreme anxiety and aggression. We worked through a lot of her fears and anxieties and she became able to actually trust a good many people. She went from being unable to even see another dog out the window to living with other dogs and even made some doggy best friends. I've cared for sick animals and am very comfortable with medications and understand special needs. I have raised both dogs and cats from infancy through to senior and am quite confident in providing care and companionship to any age group.

This was our first time using Rover and feel we were very lucky to have the experience we did with Sonny. It’s scary leaving your pets with someone new, but the updates we received from Sonny while we were away were very comforting. Sonny was originally only supposed to watch one of our dogs for 12 nights, but some issues with the care we arranged for our second pup arose last minute. Thankfully, Sonny was willing to step up and care for both of our dogs in our home. Sonny was communicative and pleasant throughout our time corresponding. We received lots of updates and photos, which was very appreciated since this was our first time leaving Murphy, our puppy. Our other dog, Kanto, tends to go on a hunger strike when we leave her, but Sonny was able to coax her into eating (even when it required palm feeding!) as well as keep on top of brushing her teeth. She gave them lots of outside time and many walks. She also provided toys of her own for the dogs to play with to stimulate their play. Our place was kept clean and tidy. Sonny also watered our plants, which we appreciated! It isn’t easy to manage our nine-month-old golden retriever puppy alongside his sensitive and sassy older sister, but Sonny did a wonderful job.
Sonny is awesome. She’s quickly become a part of the family, and our pup adores her. She’s always on time, super communicative, often providing extra details in her notes to us about how he’s feeling, and very sensitive to our dog’s needs. 10/10 would recommend!
Sonny was very understanding when I accidentally provided the wrong address for our first pick-up this week. I was so appreciative that she still gave Forest a full one-hour walk despite needing to travel to our place. We’ll definitely ask Sonny to walk Forest again.
Sonny was splendid and took the best care of my cat Bunny while i was away for 2.5 days! So much care, compassion, and diligence - even Bunny, who is usually shy and cautious with strangers, was won over, and let Sonny into his heart. Timely and thorough updates from Sonny on each drop-in visit really put my heart at ease. I would definitely reach out again and would highly recommend Sonny for all your pet needs!

Please let me know any special needs, notable likes and can't stands (ie. my dog can't stand skateboards), and anything that may cause any aggressive or fearful behaviour, that way I can assure the most enjoyment for your furry companion. I am a very attentive walker, so just let me know.
A typical day
I love to walk and hike and explore and am so excited to get to spend some time making new dog friends while I do it! We can find all the parks and trails and any greenery we can. If your pooch likes to chase a ball or play with some favorite toys, I'll be happy to accomodate. We can also work on training regiments for the younger pups. Whatever we get up to, I assure you I'll do my best to tucker them out!

Availability
I have just relocated to Toronto so my schedule is currently wide open. I will be pursuing part time employment but at the moment, I am available basically any time. I am extremely active and so happy to take as many walks as a buddy wants. I am happy to stay with them for longer periods of time, overnight, or just drop in regularly. At the moment, my days are mainly devoted to pet care
