Looking for drop-in pet visits? House sitting? Walks? Last minute walks? You’re in the right place! My name is Shy, but that’s a bit of a misnomer, and you’ll clock that quickly in our Meet & Greet. I’m 29 years old, a Scorpio (but a very nice one) and my favorite exotic animal is a Pangolin! I have been working with (and owning) pets nonstop since I could work. My first job position was as a Kennel Technician at my local pet and exotic vet clinic, which I had been volunteering at. I’ve also done volunteer work at shelters over the years, and hope to one day become a certified and professional pet trainer! The three most important things for me when I am performing any pet service are... 🐾 Safety 🐾 Patience 🐾 Integrity Giving your pet the best experience is second nature, but doing so safely and patiently, even if no one is watching, is paramount. I have gotten repeat clients on more than one occasion when my integrity was tested, and I intend to continue renewing people’s faith in humanity! - Notes Here are a few extra notes about me and the services I provide, as well as a basic FAQ at the bottom of the page! ○ Breed discrimination does not happen with me. All breeds are welcome! ○ Bad leash manners are not a dealbreaker! If I can physically do the job and am given safe equipment to work with, I will persevere! ○ Aggressive tendencies *must* be discussed! I can only keep your pet safe if I know what sets them off and how to prevent those triggers. More information is better than less! ○ Exotic animals are welcome! Fish/Snakes/Lizards/Monitors/Hamsters/Rats/Gerbils/Spider/Bugs! I am always happy to learn about a new creature and how to best care for it! - FAQ 🐾 What is a Meet & Greet? A Meet & Greet (M&G) is a FREE in-home visit that we will schedule before all Drop-In visits and Housesitting, as well as before some Walks. The purpose of the Meet & Greet is threefold! Firstly, it allows all parties, humans and pets, to meet one another and make certain we are all a good match! Secondly, it allows the sitter (that's me!) to get familiar with the schedule of your pet, where all of their supplies and favorite toys are in the home, as well as how I’ll be coming in and exiting the residence. Everyone’s home and lifestyle is different, so I bring a form that takes about ten minutes to complete to every M&G, so that I can adapt and give your pet the care they deserve. The rare example of walks that don’t require a M&G only include circumstances where the owner is present to hand off their pet before the walk and receive their pet afterwards. 🐾 Information for Walks: Walks can be done in 30 minute or 60 minute increments. My biggest walk-related pet peeve is to see owners pulling their dogs when they’re sniffing. I really believe in the enrichment of taking in new smells, getting to guide the direction, and even setting the pace. Uninhibited as much as possible. As a final note- I prefer not to use retractable leashes when walking dogs. This is for safety reasons. 🐾 Information for Drop-In Visits: Drop-In Visits are when the sitter comes over to your house to visit with and care for your pet, and you get to choose if that is 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Duties for this kind of visit might be scooping the litter pan, refreshing/washing pet bowls, walks, administering medications, or even watering the house plants. All of this will be discussed at the Meet & Greet and fulfilled at the Drop-In Visit! 🐾 Information for Housesitting: Housesitting is where the sitter stays overnight with your pet in the home. This can be a great solution when Drop-In Visits just don’t deliver the kind of care that your pet requires. Housesitting ensures that your pet has a buddy day and night! In-home security cameras are totally fine as long as I am aware of them! This is another type of visit that requires a Meet & Greet to go over important details regarding the stay, but only takes 10-20 minutes of your time. If you book housesitting with me, I'm known for leaving the house cleaner than I found it!
