Hi there! My name is Shelly. My husband and I live on a 5 acre farmette down a quiet, private road just moments from US 58 in Suffolk, VA. We moved out to the country to experience the joys of our pets having more freedom. Our dogs live inside with us, but we keep them separated during our guests’ stay. We have a separate bedroom with private access to a fenced in grassy area just for our guests. During the day, your pups will get lots of time to wander the farm and stretch their legs in our hay field while under my supervision. For the past 25 years, my career has been caring for children as a professional nanny, including the four-legged kids! In 2016, I founded Suffolk 4-H’s Dog Club to teach safety and responsibilities of dog ownership to children. I volunteer and have fostered for several local rescue groups, assisted in handling friend’s dogs during shows, and have earned several rally titles with my youngest. Needless to say that dogs are huge part of my life! My friends and family have always remarked on how much their dogs enjoyed their time with us that we have decided to open our home to more guests. My main focus is safety and comfort for your pups while in my care. It’s important to me that your dog is cared for like it would be as if you were caring for it yourself. I am detail oriented and happy to work with any instructions that would make you more comfortable.

Mrs. Shelly is absolutely wonderful for our 2 fur babies. She managed to handle our Cane Corso and Bison Friese with ease. They loved staying at her farm with freedom to run. I will take my dogs to her anytime over a cold, loud, smelly boarding kennel with iron bars like a prison any day. Just know they are in great hands with daily pupdate pictures, videos and text messages.
Shelly & her husband are fantastic! I have booked before with different pets, so I have known her for years. This booking was extra special & more difficult because our dog has medical issues. Shelly agreed to take care of her despite the challenges & our sweet dog was safe & loved! We would highly recommend her.
Shelly was so communicative with lots of photo/video updates. Very understanding and befriended my anxious pup. Amazing property for dogs and such excellent care!

The best!!!!! During this visit our fur baby had a birthday, Shelly threw him a birthday party!!! She treats him like he is hers. Her care and compassion for our senior guy is beyond measure. We struck gold when we found Shelly!

A typical day
I have experience with all size dogs. I am willing to come to your house and take your babies for a walk around the neighborhood or let them out for potty breaks at your house. At my house, I have a large field for playing fetch and zoomies. They can lounge around on our deck for belly rubs and just enjoy the sights and smells if that's their speed. Our private road offers plenty of room for long walks.
