Safety, trust & environment
Providing a safe, trusting, and healthy environment for animals starts with understanding their needs and creating a space where they feel protected and cared for. Safety comes first I make sure the surroundings are secure, free from hazards, and suited to the animal’s size, temperament, and habits. This can mean checking fences, removing toxic plants or objects, and ensuring they have access to clean water and a comfortable resting area. Building trust is just as important! Animals feel more at ease when they know what to expect, so keeping a calm tone, moving gently, and following consistent routines helps them feel secure around you. Taking time to observe their body language and respecting their boundaries shows them that you’re someone they can rely on. Trust grows when an animal feels heard and never forced.

Information Shelby G. would like to know about your pet
I want your animals to feel comfortable and safe. Here are some things I like to know! Their Daily Routine Animals feel safest when their routine stays the same. I always ask: Feeding times Portion sizes + any food restrictions Usual potty schedule Walk/exercise times Normal bedtime/wake-up routine 2. Personality & Temperament Every pet is different. It helps to know: Are they shy, confident, energetic, anxious, or reactive? Do they like other dogs? Any fears (storms, loud noises, hats, men, kids, etc.)? How do they prefer to be approached or comforted? Favorite Comfort Items These help animals settle in quickly: Favorite toys Bed or blanket Crate preferences Treats they love Commands they know 5. Training Level & Commands To keep the dog confident and consistent, I ask: What commands do they know? Expected house manners Leash behavior Crate training or potty bell training
A typical day
there are plenty of engaging activities that make the animals happy and give their owners true peace of mind! I Start with simple bonding moments. Gentle playtime, like tossing a favorite toy or exploring the yard together, helps the animal feel comfortable and cared for. Many pets love interactive games and enrichment activities—snuffle mats, puzzle feeders, or even a homemade obstacle course can keep them entertained and mentally stimulated. If the animal enjoys the outdoors, relaxing walks or backyard sun-sitting sessions are great ways to spend time together. For pets that prefer indoor coziness, quiet activities like brushing, teaching a new trick I send few updates throughout the day, maybe with cute photos or notes about what you’ve been up to, can make the owner feel even more reassured. In the end, it’s a win-win! the animal feels loved, the owner feels relaxed, and you get to enjoy the simple joy of spending time with a happy companion.

Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m a 35-year-old dog lover with a background in Business Management and over a decade of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all kinds. I’m married to my wonderful husband of 14 years, who proudly serves on active duty in the military. Our family is currently stationed in San Antonio, where we share our home with our loyal German Shepherd, Apache. My passion for dogs began long before Apache—over the past 10 years, I’ve devoted much of my time to rescuing dogs, helping them heal, feel safe, and find loving homes. Along the way, I discovered how much I truly enjoy boarding and caring for pups. Creating a comfortable, structured, and loving environment for every dog who stays with us has become something I take great pride in. Whether you need reliable boarding, dedicated care, or simply someone who treats your dog like family, I’m here to help. Your pup’s safety, happiness, and well-being will always come first with me!
Reviews

This was our 11-week-old puppy Pluto’s very first Rover experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! He stayed for three nights and had such a wonderful time. As first-time puppy parents, we were naturally a little nervous, but our sitter made us feel completely at ease. One of the things that made his stay extra special was that our sitter also had an 11-week-old puppy. Pluto had an instant playmate and snuggle buddy, which helped him feel comfortable and at home. It was so comforting to know he had a little friend by his side during his stay. She kept us updated throughout the day with texts, letting us know how he was doing, which meant so much to us. It was clear he was well cared for, happy, and loved during his stay. She even shared that he was such a joy and such a good puppy, which made us smile.😀 We are incredibly grateful for the amazing care she gave Pluto and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and loving sitter!

You know it’s good when you pup is super excited to see them when he gets dropped off! They treat him like one of the family.

Shelby and her family have so much love to our Ghost and welcomed him into their home. He came home happy and tired. When we forgot our dog bed at her home, Shelby was kind enough to bring it to us.

Everything went great, we got updates and photos of our pups and they have a few dogs of their own that are awesome. Will use again .
