Caring Pet Owner for Over 4 Decades
Pet care experience
I have had the privilege of having pets around me my whole life. I grew up with dogs (German Shepherds, Terriers, Dachshunds, Golden Retrievers, and Golden Doodles) as well as cats. As a teacher, I had classroom pets that included birds, hamsters, rabbits, and much more. If I hadn't become a teacher, I would have definitely found myself in a profession involving animals. I am a compassionate and caring person who you can trust to take care of your pets needs.
Reviews
I can't recommend Shannon enough! She has a caring and kind soul that is absolutely in love with animals. Her love for dogs is infectious! You can find her at gatherings snuggled up with the pups on their bed 💙 She is the best dog Mom and treats her fur babies with the upmost compassion, love and attentiveness. As an avid dog lover myself, I would only trust a handful of people with my fur babies, and Shannon is most definitely top on that list! Any pup would be lucky to be in Shannon's care!
Shannon loves animals and always has. She has an 18 year-old terrier that she adores. She’s very responsible with children and pets. She always follows through and if she’s taking care of your pet, you can be guaranteed your animal is getting the love and care that she would give her own pet and more
Shannon’s is a very caring person who loves pets. She loves walking dogs and is willing to spend the time to make your pet comfortable and at ease. Would not consider another individual to better care for my dog.
Shannon will be the best sitter to happen to your pet. She loves all animals (she even tries to save bugs/spiders in the house rather than killing them) with her heart and soul, and is the most trustworthy. She helped raise my puppy golden retriever who turned out to be an angel even in her adolescent (T-Rex) years. Her own pets have always been her entire world and she will treat your pets as if they were her own. Shannon is a special, one of a kind human being. Her kindness and gentleness is one of my favorite things about her ❤️

Safety, trust & environment
Depending on what has been needed by my clients, I have been in charge of feeding pets, administering medications, playing and spending time with pets, and taking pets on walks (even if that means taking them on a stroller ride to get some fresh air).
Information Shannon S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for. Some specific information about your pet that I prefer to know ahead of time includes: age, medical needs, friendliness or acceptance of strangers, and ability to get along with other dogs (if I was asked to take your pet on a walk).
A typical day
I enjoy playing fetch, hide and seek, and tug of war, but will happily engage in other fun activities. I also love taking dogs on walks. I will gladly follow my furry friend's lead. For example, my 18-year-old dog prefers sniffing and exploring walks more than walking to actually get some exercise and I love that! On the other hand, I am happy to take my more energetic dogs on a walk to get exercise or to burn some energy.

I currently have only one dog, an 18-year-old Norwich Terrier named Cooper. He loves to go on walks, but thinks he can handle more than he should, so I alternate walking him and pushing him in a stroller so that he can enjoy a couple of hours outside smelling, meeting other dogs, and satisfying his curiosity while getting a little exercise I prepare his meals, play and snuggle with him, and try to keep him cognitively challenged by filling his Kong with frozen treats and using his textured mats to provide him with his favorite Buddy Butter. I am currently a resigned teacher and have a flexible schedule. Adding in caring for additional pets is something I have wanted to do for a long time, but didn't have a schedule that allowed me to do this.
