Pet care experience

Home part time - play/run w/ pets

My family has had 2 dogs and 1 cat consistently my whole life growing up. So roughly 31 years. I have my own velcro dog now who is the biggest cuddle bug. I'm a dog person and cat person through and through. I currently volunteer at a rescue 2 mornings a week with the rescue cats and every blue moon with the dogs. I've pet sat for my family so many times I can't count. I've also dog sat for many family friends growing up and many Rover clients. I love pets of any size and breed. I have experience with large breed dogs down to teacup breeds. I love them all. And have had plenty of experience with many different varieties of cats at the rescue. I'm used to gentle dogs but have had few experiences with dogs that are mildly reactive as well as cats. In fact, I love sassy mean cats. I think they are hilarious. I also love love love cuddle bug cats. I am willing to take care of any special needs, older or medicated pets. Dogs/cats are amazing creatures and I'd love to help you out in taking care of them. And I am always happy to give them the unconditionally love they give us humans. Please let me know if you have any questions! :)

Sasha is absolutely wonderful! She is very communicative about her schedule and flexible. And sends wonderful updates about my pup during her drop in which helps me know my pup is having a good day while I’m at work. He absolutely adores Sasha! Couldn’t recommend her more!

Sasha was awesome! Went above and beyond with my pup and even helped me out by bringing some Amazon packages in the door for me while I was out of town. Will definitely be using her again!

Schedule

I am currently earning my doctorate part time and right now do not need to spend much time on campus. I also have a part time waitressing job 3-4 evenings a week. Please message me if you are curious if my schedule will work for you! Please note any last minute bookings (made 24hrs or less) are required to have the booking accepted on your end at least an hour previous to the booking start time. Without this done, I cannot arrive to the booking.

Safety, trust & environment

At any clients home, their pets will not be introduced to any animals of neighbors or strangers, etc. Your pet's safety is my number one concern! My goal is that they feel as happy and healthy as possible while in my care so you can return to your pets feeling at ease. Additionally, please note for every booking I require a written sheet detailing all pet's schedules, local emergency contact, emergency vet and regular vet contact information. This is a requirement and not optional. Can either be digital (must be accessible by android) or printed. I have never needed to use an emergency contact, emergency vet or regular vet (unless a previous appointment was made) on any booking but I believe it's best to be prepared.

Pets

A typical day

Dog walks in the local neighborhood is best but if there is not a good spot for that I am happy to take them elsewhere. Or if they do well at the dog park, I'm happy to take them there as well assuming there are not other dogs there at the time. Outdoor time is a high priority so if there is a fenced in yard we will spend lots of time out there! Otherwise, running and playing ball or cuddling/petting are happily provided.

Do they ever show signs of reactiveness or protectiveness around their kennel, food bowl or anything else? Are they intact or altered? Do they have a bite record and if so, do you have record of working with a behavioral specialist? Do they have accidents? And are they vaccinated? Do they have any allergies, health conditions or medications I should be aware of?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
