I own dogs from my childhood. I enjoy dogs and cats company and have compassion for them. When I have some free time, I give them some training too. Dogs are easy to train to oral commands. When I volunteered with cats at Purrfect Pals, my boss told me you can train dogs but not cats. So I took it as a challenge and trained few commands to few cats there. (Remember not all cats are receptive to training). She was surprised. Right now I own 2 dogs and they follow some of my instructions. I give insulin shots to one of them every day. I volunteer at Regional Animal Services of King County ( RASKC) located inside Kirkland Petco and take care of different ages, breeds of both cats and dogs. Sometimes I even take 2 dogs at a time for a walk. I help people adopt them. I pet them, care for them, and play with them. Basically I follow or do what they want. Some dogs or cats just want to relax in my lap. I do my best to make them feel that they are in their home there already. When I go there usually, I have no idea about the animals I am going to interact, but I figure out quickly and act accordingly. Some could be shy /aggressive/friendly/weak/active/small/medium/large/lethargic/old/young/ etc. Most pets give company to many owners and bring liveliness in their routine life and takes them to a different world. Even watching a tiny non-interactive fish brings relaxation and I enjoyed them when I owned them in the past. Even now, I enjoy them with other types of pets in Petco, PetSmart etc. I totally believe that dogs are humans best friends and vice versa.
