Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Samantha and any dog I’ve met I have loved like my own! Growing up, I had my rescue Yellow Lab mix, a German Shepherd mix, a Shitzu Poodle, and two cats. I adopted and trained the sweetest rescue boy in 2019. I am also an auntie to many dogs I care for when my friends and family travel.

Sam is such a lovely person. She is thoughtful, caring and responsible. She has a strong bond with her own happy, silly dog Forrest. Sam goes out of her way to provide excellent care for all animals she comes in contact with. She’s always available to help out in a pinch and I trust her entirely to take care of my own critters.
Sam has taken great care of our pups when we were out of town. It was great to know they were being loved and not to have to worry about them at all. We would absolutely recommend Sam to anyone looking for a great human to hang with their furry family members when they themselves could not.

From pet sitting for my friends and family, to fostering, to taking care of my own pet, I’ve got experience with it all! My dog is a runner. He would chase bunnies and squirrels all day long if he could, and I would if it wasn't for the real danger of traffic and living in the city. Maybe someday we will be lucky enough to own acerage :) For now, I take extreme care of his physical stimulation every day to make sure he is fully active and happy. I have come to understand dogs who run, and I take extreme precaution with dogs who are like mine. I also understand a dog’s needed routine like grooming and feeding, and can administer oral medication for you while you are away. If I ever need to board my dog, we drive an hour for boarding where he can play and run on a farm all day with other dogs, so I understand the value of your dog having access to the outdoors and lots of love.

Please share with me any food allergies, situations that might cause discomfort or aggression, if there are any special leashes or requirements for walks or visits, and if they are friendly with other dogs and people. I babysit my friend's dog who is reactive and have learned so much from her. Just like her, reactive dogs can enjoy themselves and maintain comfort for themselves and any people, other animals or triggers in their surroundings.
A typical day
I've learned from my dog that long walks are a shared joy. There is so much to smell and explore. I like to spend time with dogs in a fenced area too, as long as they get time outdoors!

Availability
Open for walks and drop in visits in northern Minnesota! My dog lives a very active lifestle along with me! We paddle board, swim, go for runs, long walks, hike, and backpack as much as we can. I am very accustomed to getting him the exercise he needs and have the energy to help make sure your pets get the exercise and care that they need.
