I’ve spent my entire childhood surrounded by animals, taking care of both cats & fogs since I was in the single digits. I've had fish, parakeets, guinea pigs, sweet pups & cranky older dogs, as well as kittens & gracefully-aging felines. With 10+ years of experience in pet sitting, I can handle everything from basic care to special needs. As a full-time warden of three rascals myself, I understand how stressful it is leaving your companions with a stranger. I treat every pet with attentive care & plenty of playtime to make sure your fur babies are content & healthy while you’re out. I also have experience taking care of senior dogs and cats with special needs, and do my best to tailor my care to your pet’s unique needs and preferences, making sure they feel comfortable and loved. Lastly, safety is key to building a good relationship with every animal, and I prioritize their safety by finding secure walking environments that I have vetted in my hometown–all of which are quiet with minimal distractions–and I can carefully monitor your pet, giving everyone peace of mind. I have a daily routine for my little elderly chihuahua named Lilli, which depending on her energy for the day, usually involves walking and feeding in the morning and ending the evening with another walk in a different neighborhood near me to give her some new scents to smell. I live in a small home, with a big backyard with hilly terrain and lots of green space, with high fencing for extra precaution and to ensure every pet's safety. I always supervise my companion interactions when they are playing outside, to prevent any accidents or escape situations. Lilli doesn’t have the energy to romp around as much as she used to when she was younger, but she likes to sunbathe on our back porch every now and again. After I give her an evening meal, she sometimes accepts special treats, and loves to cuddle up with us while on the couch or nap in her bed with her blanket. She usually gets a luxury bath once a week, after which I wrap her in a heated towel that she snuggles into. I have two youngster indoor cats as well, and they consistently have lots of energy to share with each other and their pet-owner. I maintain a dedicated playtime routine of 15 minute intervals a few times throughout the day to keep them enriched and relaxed. The rest of the day they can be found chasing each other around the house, mauling our cat tree, looking out the window, hunting socks, and napping adorably in the sunlight. They consistently eat in the early morning and evenings with me, and I keep a close eye on their health by monitoring their eating behavior and activity habits throughout the day. For visits to a client’s home, I do my best to align my weekly routines with your pet’s schedule of play and feeding to maintain their routine well-being and keep them feeling at ease in their familiar homebase. I am highly flexible and can adapt to any environment that matches your pet’s specific preferences and habits to make sure they get the consistent attention they deserve while you're away. I have experience with monitoring senior pet’s health, and have learned how to keep a close eye to monitor their wellbeing, and keep watch for any signs of discomfort or illness. Do they have any socialization needs/ special requirements? 3) For cats, what is the litter box setup and cleaning schedule? For dogs, what are your instructions for potty breaks or any specific habits they have? 4) Are there any commands or training cues they respond to? 5) Do your pets have any dietary restrictions or allergies, and any specific feeding instructions (portions, specific brand) 6) What is their medical history? Do they have any health issues, medications, or special care requirements? Please provide detailed instructions for administering medications (dosage, timing) 7) Do you have any preferences for what I should do in case of an emergency? There are a several vets located directly in my area. What is your and your vet’s emergency contact information? Do you have an emergency contact I can reach if I can’t reach you? Every pet has their own personality and preferences, so I like to adjust activities to their personalities and needs. It’s key to a fun and fulfilling day for all! I do my best to make sure all pets under my care feel physically and mentally stimulated. For dog walking, I love to take them to a neighborhood in my area to check out some new smells, and explore a grassy park that’s close by. When watching your pet, interactive games are a great way to stay active indoors; playing fetch or tug o’war with a chew toy is a definite puppy-pleaser. For your cat, a classic favorite is the feather wand and the laser pointer that can satisfy their predator-prey instincts. Of course, everyone needs a potty break and a litter scooping; and some cuddle time is always appreciated throughout the day. For some pets, the enrichment of short training sessions can be fun and stimulating, and I can provide some supplemental teaching for new commands, tricks, or behaviors that you are teaching your pet. To unwind, some brushing or cuddling is a low-key activity that works wonders for the soul. This is what a typical day of having me as your pet-caretaker would look like!
