Pet care experience
Hiya, thank you for considering my profile! I'm a part-time graduate student doing my Master's. Being in student accommodation is the first time I've ever lived without pets. We've always had at least one cat in the house since I was born plus my grandparents down the road have always had dogs. I've experienced everything from extremely senior cats (20+ years old), to 6 month old kittens, to rescues with difficult pasts, and pedigrees with allergies and asthma. I've also experienced puppies from the age of one, to elderly dogs up to the age of 15. As such, I'm very knowledgeable on safe practises, products, food ingredients, etc, as well as just having a good sense of a pet's mood and wellbeing. I've been dearly missing having cats and dogs in the home. I'd absolutely love the opportunity to care for someone else's furbaby, whether just for a single daily visit or an overnight stay. I'm quite flexible with my availability, especially over holiday periods, so feel free to pop me any questions at all.

I care for pets by firstly triple checking I'm following your instructions to a tee. Whether this involves food routines, play routines, rules about access to certain areas of the house - whatever the case, I always listen and do exactly as agreed. Then, it's a matter of focusing my attention on the pet/s by checking them over and getting a sense of their general disposition. I think a lot of potential issues can be caught early, and even avoided entirely, just by giving genuine attention to a pet's little behaviours and moods at any given moment.

A typical day
I love to play and engage with cats and dogs. It's the highlight of our time together! Whether that means going on long walks exploring local parks, or playing with their toys at home for as long as they like - I'm up for it! As long as everything checks out with your rules and instructions, then I'm excited to do any activities. And of course, one of the best parts, lots of cuddles!

My part-time degree mostly involves independent study and very few of my hours are required to be in-person. This means I have plenty of time to check in, walk with, or house sit with your pet/s.
