Pet care experience
I’ve been professionally caring for animals for 8 years and have been a trusted sitter on Rover for 4 of those years. I’ve taken courses in reactive dog handling, pet first aid, and senior pet care, and I specialize in caring for a wide range of pets — from high-energy puppies to older pets needing extra support. Over the years, I’ve trained dogs in basic commands, leash walking, trick training, and worked with pets struggling with recall, barking, jumping, and reactivity. I’m confident administering medications, and I’m extremely patient and gentle with dogs that require extra understanding and structure. I also volunteer at the Humane Society, so I’m comfortable handling all kinds of breeds and temperaments. Animals have always been a part of my life — I’ve raised and cared for dogs, cats, and small pets for as long as I can remember. I offer calm, consistent, and instruction-based care built around your pet’s needs and your comfort level.

She was amazing and was able to get us in last minute. Definitely will be using her again!

Inconsistent with timing of visits, poor communication on transportation issues. Several photos throughout the six days were just dark blurs or plain black, so unclear if she actually came for all visits. Luckily our animals are baseline healthy and flexible enough they’re all fine.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide a clean, secure, and crate-free home environment, unless otherwise requested. Pets in my care have access to furniture and beds if that’s what they’re used to. I’m home full-time — even on holidays — so your pet gets my full attention and care throughout the day and night. I follow pet parent instructions exactly when it comes to walks, feeding, medications, sleep routines, and even reinforcing training like crate use, commands, leash manners, or behavior shaping. I also keep a close eye on pets during playtime and introductions to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable.

Information Richelle M. would like to know about your pet
Before any booking, it’s helpful for me to know: • Feeding schedule (and if it’s free-feed or timed meals) • Preferred walk schedule and number of walks per day • Where your pet sleeps and if furniture access is allowed • Any commands you’re working on (sit, stay, down, recall, etc.) • How your pet reacts to other dogs (and whether they enjoy playdates) • What their favorite toys are and what they’re called • Any reactivity, barking, or jumping habits we should manage • Medication needs and how it is usually administered • Your pet’s routine during human mealtimes, arrivals, or departures The more I know, the more I can make your pet feel right at home and support whatever training or structure you’re working on.
A typical day
A typical day starts with a morning walk, breakfast (or free feeding if preferred), and supervised play or cuddle time depending on the pet’s energy level. Throughout the day, I follow the pet’s routine exactly — whether that includes rest time, fetch, enrichment games, or additional walks. If your dog enjoys company, I offer supervised play with my Golden Retriever, and for kitties or solo pups, I make sure they get structured attention and calm companionship. Evenings include another walk, dinner, and wind-down time with more attention or quiet time depending on their needs.

Availability
I’m home full-time, 24/7 — so pet care is my main focus and priority. I build my daily schedule around the pets in my care and adjust to their routines. I also volunteer at the Humane Society around my care schedule, never the other way around. On boarding days, I take dogs for at least two walks a day (more when the weather is nice or if requested by the pet parent), provide plenty of playtime in my backyard, and give them lots of love and attention indoors. I’m happy to schedule playdates with my friendly Golden Retriever if your dog enjoys social time. I follow exact feeding, walking, and medication instructions whether you’re booking me for boarding, drop-ins, or walking. Your pet’s comfort and routine always come first.
