My visitors dogs don't want to go home, they love
Pet care experience
I have both had dogs since our childhood, and currently have two friendly cocker spaniels. All my dog experience has been from pups, I even acted as midwife for my next door neighbours bitch giving birth 3 years ago! My location has a large country park at the end of the street, and woodland behind me which I manage as a volunteer warden. I have a dog friendly rear garden and my cockers love drinking from the barrel water feature. I have very tolerant pets and they happily engage with other visiting dogs,and a previous neighbours cat. I have an engaging daily routine for them, so much so I'm convinced my dogs can tell the time, when their next activity is due.

Richard is a very dog loving guy. He was very attentive to my dogs needs and went above and beyond with walkies and making sure my dog had a good time. His 2 dogs made my senior dog feel welcomed and at home. I 100% recommend Richard and will be using him again.

A true home from home is how we found our experience at Richard’s house. He welcomed our 11 month old puppy. She did have some separation problems at first but Richard has a calming voice . He went overboard to organise some exercises to enrich and strengthen lily ‘s bond with his own delightful dogs.

Apart from a clean and secure rear garden, my home is partitioned in such a way that a scared visitor could have seclusion if required. I do have a crate in the kitchen, and my dogs use it for privacy/ sleep ( door open). If your dog would be anxious at night, then I can keep my dogs upstairs with me or they can remain in the kitchen to keep their visitor company. Whichever works.

If your dog is shy and lives their own space then I have provision for that. I'm not fussed if they prefer to sit on sofa rather than the floor. It is not a loud house, and the environment here would not unsettle your dog.
A typical day
My two dogs are a wide age range apart, so the older dog enjoys indoor ball play and hide and seek of his teddy. The younger dog is more energetic and disinterested in retrieving , she just wants open space to run aimlessly. I have a wide variety of toys to keep them stimulated and any obedience game involving a treat is enthusiastically received.

Availability
I am a stay at home foster-dad, and my wife works, sometimes from home. I volunteer in my local community woodlands, and other institutions throughout the day but I estimate our dogs are not at home for more than 3 hours alone.
