Imagine not having to worry about your dog(s) at all while you are away! Now, trust that this will be the case when they stay at our home. We treat every single dog like they are a member of our own family. I will work with you to make sure that your fur baby is comfortable with us - if they sleep in the bed, on the floor in a crate - we are able to accommodate any situation. Our 13 year old black lab just passed away and we aren’t quite ready to adopt our new family member yet so we are back to dog sitting for a while! Unless you say otherwise, I take lots of photos and videos of your dog(s) playing and sleeping in our home and send them to you while you are away. Each room in our home, including our offices, has dog beds. Our family room and couch are dog-friendly. There is nothing better than nighttime tv snuggles. Toys galore - we must have 20-30 toys at any given time around our house inside and out. Experienced with counter-surfing dogs, all of the dog food and human food items are secured in pantries. Our kitchen trash is in a closed trash can, but please let me know if your dog eats bathroom trash like tissues, etc so I can watch for that. Our backyard is fenced. If your dog can jump very high, dig holes under fences, and is very curious, explorative - PLEASE let me know as soon as you send the request. We will make sure we leash walk your dog in the back yard and supervise 100% to prevent any escape situations. When we have Rover dogs in our home, they are not left outside unsupervised unless we are in the living room/kitchen area where we can see them right out of our back window at all times. Accidents happen, bad behaviors happen - that's part of pet ownership. We would NEVER hit, strike or physically harm your dog in any way. We use positive reinforcement and redirection. We are home most of the time when we have Rover dogs. We are comfortable taking dogs with special needs and senior dogs. We've had dogs with diabetes as our own pets and are familiar with giving insulin shots. Our most recent lab suffered from seizures and we are familiar with this condition and understand how difficult it can be to find a sitter for dogs with epilepsy. My husband and I are confident we can handle any kind of issue thrown our way. I've had dogs my entire life and volunteered with rescue groups and shelter organizations. We have a 5-year-old basset house/mini schnauzer mix. While we do not have kids, our young nieces and nephews are over frequently so we do require kid friendly dogs. Once you meet us, you will feel very confident in leaving your pets in our care. We look forward to meeting you. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. Our dog is on a regular feeding and potty routine and I can accommodate your pup's needs as well.
