Pet care experience

Happy dog friend in Northside

I come from a dog family, meaning I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I only care one client at a time so I can provide a safe place for your pup(s) to be the center of attention. I have experience with very large and small breeds. My last good boy was a large breed, dog aggressive dog, so I know how to safely walk and handle those behaviors. I will treat yours with the same strategies for reactive dogs even if your pup gets along with everyone and everything, just to play it safe. I also have experience with special needs pets and know safety procedures for avoiding heatstroke, dealing with allergic reactions, and eating toxic things. I know CPR for dogs. I can assist with positive reinforcement training while walking or boarding. I’m happy to take specific requests for caring for your pup. I only board one dog (or pair) at a time so I can provide a safe place for your pet to receive full-time care without other animals in the home. All dog walks will be for 1 hour. I currently work remotely from home so my schedule is very flexible which means I’ll be home most of the time while boarding your pet. I occasionally travel for work so that can sometimes affect my availability which will be marked as unavailable on my calendar. I own a home in Northside, Cincinnati on an acre of land away from main streets. Although my yard is not fully fenced, I do have a lot of privacy and live in a safe area. I like to walk dogs on my quiet blocks - Georgia Ct. and Florida Ave. I also like to give longer walks in Parker Woods. My house has hard wood floors with rugs and I have minimal steps (3) to get into my front door.

Rachelle was an incredible sitter, I highly recommend her to care for dogs especially those with special needs or those who need extra care of some kind. She is knowledgeable, caring, patient and understanding. We've never used Rover before and she spent extra time during the meet and greet to help me get comfortable with the process and get to know our dog-- an 8 year old Great Pyrenees/Alaskan malamute/Shepherd mix who jumps into action as a guard dog to protect everyone from any noise she hears. She cared for Chewie for four nights during below zero weather and 14+inches of snow. Rachelle kept Chewie busy with multiple enrichment games, was trained with e-collar, and gave anxiety medicine when needed for barking spells. Chewie is also known for finding things she shouldn't eat that are toxic to dogs, and Rachelle understood that as her home was very "doggy proof" and was able to keep her from getting into the trash,etc.. We look forward to boarding with Rachelle again!

Rachelle was wonderful to work with! She was available and offered flexibility for our needs with having our boy Cooper watched while in town to see family. She took time to connect before the meeting to ensure a plan was in place, offered a safe environment for Cooper, and was very responsive. We plan to work with Rachelle in the future!

Rachelle did a great job watching our Duke while we were out of town! We really appreciated all of the questions she asked during our meet and greet and the updates she sent while we were away. We would definitely use her again!

Safety, trust & environment

I own a home in Northside, Cincinnati on an acre of land away from main streets. Although my yard is not fully fenced, I do have a lot of privacy and live in a safe area. A typical day

I’ll start off by giving your dog time to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment with new people. I’ll help by giving gentle pats when allowed by your dog. I will also offer a frozen yogurt or banana filled kong once your dog feels comfortable and wants to play. We will walk 15-30mins every 2-4hrs on the quiet streets of Florida Ave. and Georgia Ct. For more active breeds, we will take a longer (1hr) walk through Parker Woods in Northside. I will not feed your dog anything that you do not approve of first and I will take special requests for walks and care.
