ANXIOUS / NON-CONFIDENT DOGS / PLEASE READ: I live in a complex with many dog owners. There is a 100% chance of coming into close contact with other dogs. If your doggo can't handle interactions well, my complex is risky for them (and me). Your sweet, solo pup will be better served by a caretaker in suburbia, with a fenced yard. FOR DOGS OK WITH OTHER DOGS - I will request any special instructions clients have (things to avoid, etc). I do have training on how to recognize dog communication signals. I practice creating distance and space on walks when possible.

For boarding services, I will ask about which flea prevention meds or methods your dog is on. Also, I will ask about their reactions to other dogs while on leash, on loop or on muzzle. I'd like to know what stresses them out. Written feeding instructions are preferred over verbal. Any food aggression to be aware of? Any commands you'd like reinforced?
A typical day
I'll go by your dog's routine. For dogs that need mental stim, there are plenty of games we can play. For tuggers, we can do some structured play. For active pups who love to cruise on walks, I can offer neighborhood walks or trail walks.

I have a school bus driver's schedule. Spending time with dogs is my joy, not my main source of income. I know it can be stressful finding humans worthy of your babies. Whether you need the occasional boarding host, or would like a hiking buddy for your pups, I would love and protect them.

I absolutely love Rachel. She’s a true pro who proactively worked with me, reminding me of what to bring, she set up a meet and greet for my baby girl. So Winnie was comfortable. After Winnie’s stay she came home rested and relaxed. Rachel is the best in Santa Fe, the bar was raised with Rachel.

Rachel was great! If you are looking for pet care, I’d highly recommend Rachel. She was communicative and sent updates throughout our dogs stay. She made sure she cared for our pups the way we do, asked about their routine, and made sure they were comfortable with her. Our pups seemed happy and healthy when we picked them up. Thank you again!
