Information Rachel G. would like to know about your pet
Rachel used to have a list of questions here, but she noticed that this part of the profile was understandably missed -- so she'll ask the client directly during the time of booking if she has any questions for them and their pup!
A typical day
At home with Rover dogs, Rachel enjoys playing fetch in the house, and she also enjoys taking them on long walks around the community. Rachel lives in a gated complex that has lots of trails within the walls. The dogs we watch never get bored! When it's just Rachel with her doggos, she really loves bringing them to the beach for a family beach trip. Lily the golden especially enjoys digging in the sand and swimming.

Pet care experience
Rachel's an animal lover who grew up with dogs, birds, rabbits, and cats! She's been watching dogs and cats through Rover since 2016 (over 1000+), and has been doing it full-time since 2021. She's also helped clients with their chickens, fish (including koi and turtles), checked their mail while on a house visit, and also watered plants (she loves gardening). Rachel cares for pets the same way she cares for her own, and she'll send daily photo updates so you know how your furry child is doing! Rachel does have a day job, but she works 100% remote, which allows her the flexibility to watch your pup (or pups). While Rachel does accept housesitting requests, she typically won't have the availability to stay overnight, because she does have her own pup that she needs to be with overnight. She would be happy to discuss housesitting needs for your doggo or kitty (or other animal). Inside a client's home, she's respectful of all the rules, and Rachel will follow the schedule that you need for your doggo. Rachel will check in with you at the time of booking to make sure everyone is on the same page with the needs of your pet! She looks forward to meeting you and your furry family member or members! *** A few notes... 1. Due to COVID (and now in the post-COVID world), Rachel doesn't do inside tours of her home. She's very happy to do a meet and greet outside in the courtyard and send pictures of the inside! You can also see inside photos from past clients on our profile as well! 2. Other than food/treats, Rachel has everything else here for your pup (including extra bowls)! She kindly asks that if you do want to bring your pup's bowls, please make sure they are not ceramic (or anything that's breakable). Plastic or stainless steel is totally fine. 3. She would prefer pick up or drop off times to be later than 7 am. But if you really need something earlier than that, she's willing to make an exception.

Reviews

Rachel helped me out in short notice and did a great job taking care of my kitties! My cats are pretty shy and Rachel even got a picture of my Wampa while I was away for the holiday weekend. I am very grateful for her help and would recommend Rachel to anyone for home pet care while you are away.

We did a test daycare visit with Rachel before booking an extended stay for our young Rottweiler, Boudin. Since we were planning a long vacation, we wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable beforehand. Rachel and her husband were very friendly when they picked him up. They have two older dogs—a Golden Retriever and a Husky—and everything seemed to go well. After daycare, they dropped Boudin off by letting him back through our gate. Unfortunately, after the visit, we never heard from them again. I reached out through the Rover app to ask how the day went and whether they felt comfortable watching him for our upcoming trip, but I never received a response. My impression is that Boudin, being a large, energetic adolescent Rottweiler, may have been more than they wanted to take on. If that's the case, I completely understand—they may simply be a better fit for smaller or lower-energy dogs. I'm actually glad we did the trial visit because it helped us figure this out before committing to an extended stay. My only disappointment was the lack of communication. A simple message letting us know they didn't feel it was the right fit would have been greatly appreciated. Because of being ghosted after the trial, I'm deducting two stars.

Reliable care while I was away.
The best! Thank you so much!
