I love animals! I am a volunteer Pilot for Pilots N Paws. It’s a great operation rescuing & placing animals worldwide if you’re not familiar. I have completed my first level certification as a Service Animal trainer and continue my training. I’m currently working on my doctorate dissertation so I’m available to love & care for your friend full time! I started pet care at a very young age having grown up on a fully sustainable-off grid farm. I’ve cared for rabbits, cats, dogs, goats, horses, sheep, and chickens. I’ve always had animals throughout my life and currently have a 2 year old huskey named Nala & 6 yr old Malinois/shepard mix named Laki. I’ve fostered everything from pit bulls to chihuahuas. I’ve cared for many rescues throughout my life and raised 9 abandoned pups & 2 strays from birth in the jungle of Costa Rica.

Penelope is fantastic. She bonded with our dogs immediately and it was clear, when we returned 3 days later, that the dogs loved her. She took them on hikes, to the dog park and played with them both outside and inside. She also provided us with some valuable tips on caring for them, including purchasing doggie harnesses and better leashes out of her pocket. In fact, she refused to be reimbursed for that saying it was her gift to us. Our house was in good hands all around. If you want a house and/or dog sitter that doesn't mail it in (so-to-speak) just to earn a fee, she is an excellent choice. She totally engages and is very present. We loved the numerous pics and videos - can't fake those. If you want a fantastic sitter, she's your person.
We have used Penelope before and really appreciate her communication. She shares lots of pictures and videos of our fur babies enjoying their time with her. We highly recommend her.
Penelope is a dog whisperer…. I have 2 pooches, one slightly blind and deaf, the other a bit nervous. Penelope took them in, ensured a smooth transition into her home, and shared so many photos and videos of them during their stay - indoors and out - that it was simply an amazing experience for my two little guys, and for this guy. Thank you, Penelope!!
Penelope was great looking after out dogs for the day while we were out on the mountains; she asked about how our dogs reacted to things to best look after them and she looked after them like they were her own. I'd happily have Penelope look after our dogs in the future!

Zeitplan
You can reach me 24/7 except when we’re out hiking. My home I own is surrounded by miles of open space and only 14 miles from Vail. I have a very private 12 mile hiking trail on private land in my backyard (I have permission to walk there) and just a 5 minute walk away is a trail along a river that is 16 miles rt. My pups and I walk it approx. 1.5 hrs every early morning as part of our routine. We also both have a mandatory “stretch our legs” walk approx. every couple hours which means yours will as well if he/she is up for it! I’ve a backpack for those that enjoy the fresh air but don’t enjoy walking. I am able to provide pick up and drop off or meet you in Minturn at no extra charge. If you’d like us to stay at yours we’d be happy to do that as well!

I promise your baby will be loved and treated as my own. I travel occasionally and have to leave mine from time to time so I truly understand the importance of finding the perfect fit! You won’t go wrong choosing us.

Ein typischer Tag
I offer full day back country hikes and snow shoeing adventures, dog park outings, and easy trail walks. My Nala loves to snuggle and share (Laki doesn’t share as well 😂) but I do have crates if you prefer separation. Again, just ask if you have special requests, I’m happy to accommodate.
