I am currently studying part time to be a certified professional dog trainer so I will have plenty of time to work with, walk, do drop ins, do overnight boarding, and do dog daycare/day school for you and your animals! I take care of my dogs everyday!

I care for my dogs and my client's dogs in the same way. I use force free positive reinforcement training. I like to get to know all clients dogs, build a relationship with them, and let them get to trust me. This takes time and I do not push dogs too fast. I do very small dog boarding and dog day care/day school. If you have more than two dogs let me know so I can accommodate you and your dogs. I have a fenced in yard and I never leave dogs in the backyard unattended. I know how leaving dogs in the backyard alone can make dogs stressed. I also have separate spaces in my house for dogs to be to rest/take a break from things that might be stressful or if they want to stay alone or with the dog or dogs they live with. I always feed dogs alone because I know how food is a primary survival resource for animals.

Drop in visits include feeding your dog, giving your dog water, giving your dog medications, letting your dog outside to go to the bathroom, a small training session, and a small play session. When I walk my dogs and clients dogs, I like to use a method called loose leash walking. The leash is loose and we work on redirecting when the dog pulls. When it is too hot to walk, I usually take the dog outside to go to the bathroom and then we go inside to practice loose leash walking. Puppies do not hit growth plate closure till around 1-3 years of age and they cannot regulate their heat and cooling yet. A good resource to look at is Chris Zink puppy exercise guidelines. Heat stroke in dogs is also a very dangerous condition. When your dog boards with me a typical day looks like your dog going for a walk in the morning, a walk in the evening, doing training in the afternoon, getting fed the meals they need, getting a play session with me or one of my dogs if that permits, going outside for several potty breaks a day, getting groomed, giving them their medications if they take any, giving them lots of fresh water, and having lots of calm time during the day to take naps, regulate their nervous system, and settle. Dog daycare/ day school is very similar to dog boarding. Your dog will arrive and they will get training during the day, a snack if you bring them a kong, lick mat, food stuffed chew toy, or bone, a play session with me or one of my dogs, rest time, water, medication if they need any, and lots of potty breaks. Please note: I require all core vaccines which are rabies, distemper, adenovirus which is hepatitis, parvovirus, and bordetella for dogs to do meet and greets and services with me. Leptospirosis and parainfluenza are also great for dogs to have. I require a meet and greet for all new clients for dogs to do services with me and this is for safety reasons not to make your life harder. Once new clients have done a meet and greet with me and a services with me then we can talk about more last minuet bookings.

I've taken care of my two dogs over the past six years. This has included all of their care and training. Additionally, I've taken care of neighbors dogs providing services such as drop in visits and dog walking. I have worked in the past at a local force free positive reinforcement dog training small business providing services such a group dog classes, private lessons, and day training for dogs. This is where I gained enough hours training dogs to become an approved AKC CGC evaluator for the family dog program. I am also an AKC ATT evaluator. I also volunteer at local dog training clubs and do dog sports with my dogs Cocoa and Charlie. I currently am studying to be a certified professional dog trainer so I can bring the knowledge I have and am learning when I am with your pets. I work with all kinds of dogs from puppies to senior dogs and I have raised my own two dogs since they were puppies. I believe that dog trainers should be certified and pursue a continuing education.

We are so happy that we found Nikki. She has been so good with our dog and I will say our dog is not necessarily an easy one. It takes a very special person to take care of Max as he is very needy and we could not be happier with the service that we have been provided each time we have come here we will definitely be returning.
