This allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day, and pet care fits naturally into my routine. Even though I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I regularly make time in the mornings to volunteer at my local animal shelter. Caring for dogs is already a part of my daily life, and I’m used to structuring my schedule around their needs. I’ve been volunteering at Randolph Regional Animal Shelter since I was 12, working with dogs of all backgrounds and behavioral needs. I have hands-on experience with reactivity, resource guarding, and fear-based behaviors, and I’m especially patient with shy or anxious dogs. At the shelter, I walk, feed, and help socialize dogs to help build their confidence and trust. I also worked as a Scent Tech at Scenthound, where I assisted with bathing and safely handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments. This strengthened my ability to read body language and keep dogs calm in new or stressful situations. A dog who means a lot to me is Henry, a fear-aggressive shepherd at the shelter who has learned to trust me over time. I’m currently saving and working toward adopting him once I find the right housing. Building that bond has been incredibly rewarding and reflects the patience, consistency, and care I bring to every dog I work with.🤎

I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to work alongside Nat in all types of dog-forward environments such as the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter and Scenthound. She has such a calm and relaxed demeanor when handling all kinds of dogs no matter the temperament. I own Barking Orders and help to train some of the Randolph shelter’s more difficult residents, and she has been CRUCIAL in the progress we’ve made with some of the dogs there! Her priority is always comfortability, safety and quality care no matter who’s dog is in her hands. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to leave my dogs, or any dog, in Nat’s care!
