Pet care experience

Calm, Specialized Pet Care

Hi, I’m Michelle—owner of Wags & Whiskers Pet Sitting in the Charleston Tri-County area. I provide calm, structured, boutique-style care for pets who need more than a quick drop-in. I specialize in: • anxious or reactive dogs • senior pets and medical needs • multi-pet households with unique dynamics With 15+ years of hands-on experience, I’m comfortable administering medications, supporting behavioral needs, and maintaining routines that keep your pets feeling safe and stable while you’re away. My approach is intentional—not rushed, not chaotic, and never “just stopping by.” You’ll receive: ✔ consistent updates + photos ✔ clear, proactive communication ✔ attention to behavior, mood, and health changes I focus on creating a low-stress environment so your pet can relax—even in your absence. If you’re looking for dependable, detail-oriented care (especially for pets who need a little extra understanding), I’d love to connect.

Michelle took such great care of our two dogs. Our big mutt is kinda weird with other dogs & needs someone to care for him who understands his body language and nuisances. Michelle was incredibly qualified for Rip’a “weirdness.” She sent several pictures and checked in frequently. She also had great advice for training and information I should look into to better care for Rip. If you’re looking for a very knowledgeable caregiver, look no further! Michelle is wonderful.

Very knowledgeable dog lover. In vet tech program. Encouraged my underweight pup to eat with canned food. Cared for both of my dogs with personal attention and sent pics. Will use again when I’m in the area. Thank you Michelle.

Schedule

I'm work from home Sunday - Wednesday. This allows me to supervise your pup while out to play in the yard with others if the weather is nice, or be able to hang out in my dog dedicated living room if the weather isn't as great. On Thursdays, Fridays, and part of the day on Saturdays, I work at a local vet clinic. I'm not too far from home so I'm able to let the pups out before going to work, during lunch, and then I ensure that they have plenty of time after work to play and stretch their legs. While I'm away from home with work or drop ins for other clients, if they need to be crated, I have those set up and under video surveillance.

Safety, trust & environment

My home: I have a fenced in yard and a two story home. If your pup isn't the happiest around my dog or another boarder, I do have the ability to separate but still allow freedom of movement through an outdoor kennel and gate systems through out the interior of the home. We try to make your pup as comfortable in my home as they would be in theirs while sharing the space with pups that they don't know very well.

Pets

A typical day

We love being able to play in the sprinkler in the backyard or taking a field trip to a local park or walking trail. Otherwise, we use lick mats and custom frozen treats to make sure that everyone has a great time.

To provide the best care possible, I like to know: • medications or medical needs • behavior patterns (anxiety, triggers, reactivity) • feeding routines and preferences • emergency contacts + vet information The more I know, the better I can keep your pet safe and stress-free.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
