There’s honestly no better company than a happy dog. I’ve had dogs for most of my life, growing up with Golden Retrievers and later sharing my life with my beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Nanook. After losing Nanook a few years ago, I was lucky enough to welcome Koda into my family, and my love for dogs has only grown stronger. I started Paws at Home Belfast because I genuinely love having dogs around—not just for me, but for Koda too, who enjoys making new four-legged friends. As a dog owner myself, I know how difficult it can be to leave your best friend behind. The thought of them spending their time in a kennel can be stressful, and it’s natural to worry whether they’ll feel comfortable and happy while you’re away. That’s why I wanted to create a true home-from-home experience where dogs can relax, feel safe, and be treated as part of the family. When your dog stays with us, they become part of the household. They’ll enjoy comfy places to snooze, regular walks, plenty of attention and affection, and a secure fenced garden where they can explore, play, and sniff to their heart’s content. I keep things calm, clean, and fun, ensuring every dog receives the care, companionship, and routine they’re used to. We’re conveniently located just a five-minute walk from local playing fields, a dedicated dog park, and the local veterinary practice, giving your dog plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and safe adventures during their stay.

Michael took amazing care of my dog, Tito, for a whole week, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Tito was so happy and content throughout his stay, and it was clear he was treated like one of the family. Michael kept me updated with lots and lots of photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that Tito received plenty of love, affection, and attention every day. When I picked him up, he was relaxed, happy, and honestly didn’t want to leave! I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and genuinely loving dog sitter. Michael is a fantastic dog owner and sitter, he'll care for your dogs as if they're his own and they'll have an amazing time staying with him and Koda. Dates de la garde
I work from home two days each week on a rotating schedule, which allows me to provide plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. One week I work from home on Tuesday and Thursday, and the following week on Monday and Friday, alternating on a bi-weekly basis. I am also available on weekends, giving me flexibility for dog sitting, boarding, and daycare. I always aim to accommodate owners' needs where possible and will keep my availability calendar up to date.

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. When boarding in my home, I provide a calm, welcoming environment where dogs can feel relaxed and cared for while they’re away from their family. I take the time to get to know each dog’s routine, personality, and individual needs, making sure they receive the right balance of walks, playtime, attention, and rest. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication, exercise requirements, and any special preferences. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos throughout their stay. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in my care.

A typical day with me is all about making sure your dog feels comfortable, happy, and included. Since I work from home part of the week, I’m able to provide plenty of company, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Days usually include regular walks, playtime, enrichment activities, and plenty of cuddles and downtime. I like to keep dogs engaged with opportunities to explore, sniff, and enjoy their surroundings, while also making sure they have time to relax and feel at home. Every dog has their own personality and routine, so I’ll adapt activities to suit their energy level and needs — whether that’s a longer walk and lots of play, or a quieter day with gentle attention and comfort. Koda also loves having a furry friend around and enjoys meeting new dogs at their own pace.
