Confident care for your dog

Pet care experience

A retired couple with 40 years of dog guardian experience, who now lives in the California wine country, albeit without a dog. I am a retired woman with 40 years of dog guardian experience. I took one Lab through the breed ring, field trials, and obedience. I won several legs but no Masters. I presently have no dogs. My son lives with me partîmes. Our house is in a community in which are located several dog parks. We have a large fenced in back yard. My dogs are recently deceased and i have yet to replace them. I have the facilities and the compassion to host dogs. It is an obvious way to gain exposure and experience with multiple breeds. About this sitter: I live in Calistoga and I pet sit dogs. I am physically able to deal with medium to small dogs. I enjoy walking for exercise. I am reluctant to care for more than 2 dogs daily. Why I love dog sitting Casey, my wife and I, have had dogs in our house since 1973. Mostly Labs, but there was also a Dalmatian. In 1996 we purchased a breed puppy and trained her for the ring. Her X-rays revealed elbow problems at 1 year so I switched to Field Trials and obedience. Lot's of leg awards but no Masters. In 2004, while living in France, we adopted another Yellow Lab, so then we had Macchu and Picchu. We brought the whole gang home to San Francisco in 2007, where both animals died of old age. Meet my pets We have no other pets in the house. Sometimes we will sit 2 dogs, however, it is only with the agreement of each pet parent. About my yard The back yard is aprox. 100X100 and is completely enclosed with a wooden 6 foot fence. The surface is rock gravel, cement, and redwood chip. There is ample protection and shade for the dog. My experience administering medication Yes we are. This eventuality will be discussed in our "meet and greet."

What a terrific Rover for my boy. He felt right at home and got walks, treats and extra love. I highly recommend this one for your pet care needs. We both had a vacation this week. ❤️

I’m reluctant to give the great review Casey deserves, because I want to save her for myself! Casey is everything a dog wants. Walks twice a day, a calm demeanor, experience handling dogs who are fussy, a willingness to treat basic medical issues, including taking your dog to the vet ER, and not feel put upon to do it. The reason that we love Casey, however, is that she treats our dog as we do- lots of hugs and hanging out in the garden with a cold drink. Nothing special, but our dog is treated like our child, and Casey steps in as a beloved aunt. I never worry if my dog is unhappy with us leaving her when Casey is caring for her. That’s a real gift to our dog, and especially to us.

The best dog sitter we have had yet. Very easy going, great communication, and our dog loved being with her. She gave us multiple updates, messages, and pictures daily.

Casey is the best. She treats my dog like I do with affection and hugs, so I know my dog loves staying with Casey.

Information Casey B. would like to know about your pet

We have the most experience with Labs, but we have no breed preferences. We would like to know the age, health, and training of the animal. Reliability is very important to ensure safety and security of the animal.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We live in a small village, with very little vehicular traffic, and lot's of green space in parks and adjacent to sidewalks. I walk a lot, and everywhere, so this activity is second nature. There is also a fenced dog park, separated by size of dog. This is fine for training, exercise, and securing the dogs from traffic. Your dog's sleeping arrangement My preference is to have the dog sleep in a crate, either in our bedroom or the porch adjacent to our room. This depends a lot on the wishes of the dog's guardian. We sleep with a door open to the back yard, and the dog would have access at any time. After several months experience with Rover dogs, we find they sleep on their own bed and often walk into the yard during the night. Time I'll spend with your dog I am retired and have few obligations. I will be with the dog all day, every day.
