I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have cared for everything from dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, small animals, and even chickens, ranging from young pups and kittens to senior pets needing gentle support. I’m currently a proud dog mum to a bright and lively border collie who we’ve raised and trained since he was a pup! We first found Melissa through a mutual friend (not through Rover) but we’re so glad we did! She looked after our dog while we were away and did an amazing job. We got regular updates and photos, and it was clear our pup felt safe, happy, and relaxed. Mylo was a lovely companion too, gentle and well-behaved! More recently, we needed a drop-in visit while we were out for the day, and once again fantastic service. She gave our dog some playtime, cuddles. Whether I’m welcoming pets into my home or visiting them in theirs, their safety, comfort, and happiness are always the top priority. I live in a quiet cul-de-sac with a fully fenced garden that is perfect for secure outdoor play. We’re surrounded by lovely woodland walks for plenty of enrichment and exercise where necessary. Your pet will also have the company of my friendly dog, who is well-socialised and happy relaxing too. During drop-ins, I follow your routines closely to make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure in their own space. I take time to build trust, give lots of affection, and ensure their environment is clean, calm, and safe at all times.

A typical day
A typical day starts with lots of cuddles and making sure your pet feels happy and safe. If I’m boarding in my home, we may go for a morning walk in the local woods or around quiet neighbourhood streets, tailored to their energy level and preferences. There’s plenty of playtime with toys, enrichment games, and space to relax. I stick closely to your pet’s usual routine, whether that’s mealtimes, medication, or nap time—so they feel comfortable and settled. For drop-in visits, there may be a play session in the garden, a short walk, or just some calm companionship if they prefer a gentler pace. I love using treat puzzles, snuffle mats, or even basic trick training if your pet enjoys that kind of stimulation. Each visit ends with a little photo update for peace of mind!

Availability
I’m available Monday to Friday in the mornings and evenings. I also have a flexible lunch break, which means I can offer afternoon drop-ins during the week too. I work from home, so we are able to provide weekday boarding with plenty of company and supervision, your pet won’t be left alone. I’m also available for weekend boarding, making it easy to find care that fits your schedule.
