Experienced animal care taker
I have worked in an animal hospital as a kennel technician during college and after I graduated. Following that, I became a zookeeper at two different zoos. I was a zookeeper for 11 years. I have worked with a variety of animals from reptiles to small and large mammals and birds. I can admister medications and take care of animals with special needs. I have had dogs my whole life. I have raised my dogs from the puppy stage on. I have crate trained my dogs. I have owned medium to large sized dogs and also take care of my family’s dogs when they have been away. I enjoy working with animals. I consider them to be a part of the family.

My dogs have been crate trained. I have a fenced in yard. Working in a zoo, safety was number one. I had to make sure all animals remained in their exhibit.

Melissa is a lifesaver! When my high-maintenence cat went on a hunger strike while I was out of the country, Melissa went out of her way to keep me updated on his situation, try the tricks I suggested, and even went to the store to buy some treats to motivate him to get back on track. She always sends a gallery of pictures so that I know what my cats are up to while I am away. I am confident that, when I travel, my cats will be loved and taken care off when Melissa is checking in on them.
5 stars all around as always. Melissa has been great taking care of our dog for a while now.
Mellisa has been checking in on our cats during our travels for the last couple of years. We are moving out of her service area in early October 2021. We hope we can find another sitter as dependable as Mellisa had been.

Melissa is fantastic! We have rebooked her multiple times because she is so great. She will send you daily updates on your furry baby & home. She also was very flexible and let us extend our vacation by a day and was able to come over without any complaints. She also watered our outdoor plants for us. We will definitely be using her again! :)
We have been using Melissa for a year now for drop in visits for our 2 cats when we are out of town, and drop in visits to walk our dogs when on day trips. She responds quickly to all messages and booking request. She’s been able to help out in last minute request.

Programa
I work during the week but not on the weekends. I work at an elementary school and have school hours. My schedule is the wake county traditional calendar.
