About me: My rescue Dutch Shepherd passed recently at 14 after 12 years together. He was my family but he had reactivity and towards the end needed a lot of care around illness and dementia. Raising and training him has given me so much love for dogs along with a good amount of experience around dog body language (his and other dogs), training and general situational awareness. I also learned so much about clear requests and firm boundaries while advocating for him. Because of that he was able to have so many human friends and dog besties despite the reactivity. And I've done lots of walks and sits for those doggy friends over the years. I'm not ready to have another dog or cat myself, but I'd love to care for other folks' furry family. Things to be aware of Boarding: I have an elderly cat, so to board at my home, your dog will need to be good with cats. Unless your dog currently lives with cats I'll ask for a meet and greet at my home so that they can meet and I can assess. House sitting: I will accept house sitting visits outside of my set area if it is for multiple nights. There's no effective way to set things up that way on this site so please get in touch. I also can do longer than a week house sits for folks that I have done sits for previously.

Mel is an experienced dog owner and therefore I had no reservations leaving Loki with her. She took time to understand his personality, commands, likes and dislikes and was adaptable to make sure he had a great stay. The excitement he showed seeing her after their intro meet was clear he had a great time. He was definitely spoilt and would absolutely book with her again !
It would be utterly impossible to explain just how much Lettice adores Melany! Melany is a fab dog walker, making sure Lettice has plenty of interaction and attention. Highly recommend Melany as a reliable and trustworthy walker.
Melany is kind, reliable, and has a genuine love for animals. They are patient, caring, and always makes sure pets feel safe, happy, and well looked after. I know that whenever Lettice is with Melany, she's in the best hands and treated as if she were one of their own. I would wholeheartedly recommend Melany to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker or pet sitter. Any pet owner can feel completely confident leaving their furry family members in their care.

Programa
I work from home part time- Monday to Wednesday with plenty of flexibility around those working days. I can set my hours on those days as needed. And my days off are completely mine to schedule.

The owner is always the best resource for how to care for their pet. My first port of call will be to go through questions related to behaviour and care, to make sure that I can meet everything that's needed. Aside from that I'm confident walking dogs of any size. Even if you're happy for your dog to be off lead, I will keep them on lead for the first few walks until I'm confident that they will recall to me consistently. Im happy working with spicy kitties who need extra time to build trust. My home is spacious and has a walled garden. I still have bowls, fountains, scratching posts, toys and crates from my previous pets that I can bring out of storage as needed.
Un día normal
Dogs: i like to ask the owner what their dog enjoys as well as observing what makes that breed and that dog happy. Then I structure activities based off of that. Ive done agility and scent training with my old dog so i can bring elements of that into home and walks if its something your dog would enjoy. and I believe walks aren't just for me to take your dog out while I stare at my phone. They're something for us to enjoy together.

- I like to have a conversation with every owner about their dog before sitting so that I can get to know the dog a little beforehand. Both for challenges and to find out what they enjoy.
