Pre-Vet Student & Animal Lover
Hi, I'm Melanie! I'm a pre-veterinary student at Montclair State University, and I can't remember a time when animals weren't a part of my life. For the past six years my best friend has been my border collie, April. If you know the breed, you know they're incredibly smart and always keeping you on your toes. She is family to me so that bond made me want to share that same level of care with other pets. I'm always happy to do a meet-and-greet. It gives us both a chance to get to know each other and lets you see how I interact with your pet before making a decision. I take time to learn each of their personalities and specific needs, and I build my sitting entirely around that. [I'm also open to caring any species other than dogs]

Ratings and reviews
It has been such a delight working with Mel. I was such at ease knowing I can trust my little fur baby in her hands my vacation was peaceful and magical... ✨️✨️✨️ Mel communicated/shared photos with me at all times making sure I was in peace. I recommend Mel to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter as she is very polite, punctual, loves animals and very professional.

We had a house sitting with Melanie for our 8 year old Siberian Husky, she is absolutely amazing. Very thorough with her care and services. We will definitely keep working with her as our favorite caregiver for our dog.
I’ve been Melanie’s neighbor since she was a child, so I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into the wonderful young woman she is today. Even back then, she had a gentle heart and a natural connection with animals. Mel spent many summers with my Schnauzers. They weren’t her pets, but you never would’ve known that by the way she cared for them. She treated them with the same love, attention, and excitement as if they belonged to her. After losing them both last year, I find comfort knowing they spent so many happy years with someone who cherished them. It came as no surprise when Melanie decided to pursue veterinary medicine. Some careers are chosen, others seem to choose the person. I can’t think of anyone I’d trust more with a beloved pet.

As a full-time student, I plan my schedule around both my classes and sitting. I keep my calendar updated regularly so you can always see my availability.
