Unreliable, Unprofessional Sitter This is our second time using Rover, first time using out-of-state sitter and Megan failed to deliver the “Rover experience” miserably. We had a wedding to attend in Mesa, AZ from 11/8-11/11. When I was researching for a reliable sitter, I saw her profile and with the “Vet tech providing care” right under her name, I chose her because I felt at ease that our dogs will be taken cared of in case of an emergency. Wrong. We booked with Megan for 11/9 from 9:30am to 9:30pm and again 11/10 for 9:30 am to 9.30 pm. We wanted to pick up our dogs in the evening. Their stay was booked/paid on 09/26/2024. Never heard from her between 09/26 to 11/8. I sent her a note about our dogs on the day I paid for the booking and did not receive a reply. This should have been a red flag to me. I was expecting for some confirmation or maybe a quick note from her. Nothing. On 11/8 I reached out to her and told her that we’d rather keep the dogs for 11/9 and use her service for 11/10 only for a few hours. She replied, agreed and kept the money for that day. On 11/10 the day of the wedding, my husband attempted to drop our dogs off at 12:32 pm, stayed until 1:10 pm I texted her at 12:32 and again on 12:58. I also called her Rover number and that number is NOT SERVICEABLE. Rover was unable to use that number to connect to Megan. My husband left the address and I did not receive a text from Megan until 2:41 pm. She said she had been home all day and did not receive any messages/phone calls/ and claimed that her camera showed no one arrived. I told her that we double-checked the address provided but no one was home. She’s probably correct that she did not see anyone on her camera because a broken down car with the hood up along with car parts and tools parked at the front door/ porch area obscuring her view. How about the doorbell? Luckily for us we had a dash cam and he took several pictures of her front yard. I contacted the police department to make sure that there is no other street similar to her address in Mesa, AZ. The address is correct. Photos of her house available on the internet is the same as what my husband took but with more junk. Megan then said that “a lot of people actually go to the house behind mine because the gps is a bit off.” If this was true, you’d think with the amount of clients she’s had, she’d mention this to new clients. We plugged her address on 2 different GPS and both showed the same house. She mentioned that she’s a licensed vet tech. Irrelevant. I didn’t need her to be a Licensed vet tech to open the door and take our dogs. She’s hired to watch our dogs not to be a vet technician! After confronted of her lies for not being there, she apologized for her actions. Megan mentioned that she has about over 100% reviews and over 200 clients. This is true but please don’t be fooled. Browse through her reviews and you will see a pattern of lies with other clients. They’re there. What I noticed is the only saving grace for the client is a camera or recordings of her actions. If you don’t have a camera in your house or in my case a dash cam, photos of her house and phone call to the police department, Megan will stick to her lies until confronted then she’ll apologize for her actions. I had to tell Megan to stop contacting me or harassment charges will be filed. She failed that, too. Also, 99% of pictures she took and posted on Rover is not of her residence. I would make sure to ask a picture of her FRONT/ BACK yard and inside of the house! Had I seen a single photo of her front yard beforehand, I would have never even consider taking my dogs there. Hindsight is always 20/20. Pass.
