I have been looking after my own dogs since I was 8 years old, and looking after friends/family dogs since I was 12. My first dog (black labrador called Mari) sadly passed in 2020, however during my teenage years she was extremely relaxed so I would take her for long walks. More recently, we got a new dog (golden labrador called Betsy) as a puppy, and adopted another (spaniel called Chester) 1 year later. This reminded me what it's like to look after a puppy with lots of energy, and allowed me to get involved in their training! Drop me a message if you would like to book!

Matthew was fantastic with our two dogs , sent regular updates , checked in with questions when he needed too and I felt completely at ease whilst away. I will 100% book again :)
Matthew provided excellent care for our pack of five crazy pugs! Left the house in great condition, everything was clean. The dogs were very happy and content, so much that after the initial hello they didn’t even seem too bothered that we the owners had come back! lol our oldest pug Lily was too busy begging her new daddy (Matthew) for his food and didn’t want him to leave. Matthew is always very professional and fun to work with, he’s a very pleasant relaxed funny person. Communication was great and clear. He went the extra mile and walked two dogs a day even though we said that one was enough, which was really nice of him! He made sure to walk them separately for safety reasons as we had requested and he used the safety clips on their harnesses as asked. He filled up the humidifier of my expensive tropical plants every couple of days to avoid them crisping up and dying off while we were away. This was very appreciated because it saved me heartache on my return! Would definitely recommend Matthew without any reservations he loves dogs so much and it’s pretty obvious by how hard he works that he is an animal lover to his core :) thank you again and see you later this summer!
Matthew paid very close attention to all the important instructions we gave him in order to keep our pack of pugs safe, even watching our pugs one by one while they eat to ensure they didn’t choke on their food as they eat very fast. Very good attention to detail and very polite, would definitely recommend him. Even our staffie girl who is usually fearful of strangers immediately loved Matthew!
Matthew was great looking after my giddy 14 month old border terrier. He kept in touch and made us feel at ease. Would certainly recommend.

If caring for your pet in your home, I would be respectful and set clear boundaries beforehand. I would keep your pet engaged regularly throughout the day, and in the evenings would usually take them on a long walk then sit and relax once they are tired. Unfortunately due to living in a flat, I am unable to care for a pet in my home.

A typical day
I love to go on long walks, and engage your dog while walking by throwing balls and playing with other dogs. This would hopefully tire them out! When at home, I would play with your dog while keeping them relaxed, and in the evening will keep them calm so they can wind down.

Availability
I'm a young professional working in Leeds City Centre with the opportunity to work from home most days, therefore will have more than enough time to look after your pets, both during the day and on the evening. Drop-in visits would usually be once in the morning for an hour, at lunch for 30 mins, and then after 5pm. If it works with my schedule, I would also work remotely to spend all day around your pets.
