Availability

Currently my schedule is VERY flexible. Normally I work as a massage therapist/ health and wellness consultant, but I've been taking a break from that due to construction at our house and helping out my family. Most mornings (except for Thursday) I'm free between 6-10:30 AM. Thursday I'm free after 11:30 AM. Afternoons and evenings are flexible, it depends on the day. However, the more notice I have, the more open I can be with my schedule. The prices I have listed on Rover are more for infrequent/ one time visits, but I am willing to give a discount/ agree to a weekly rate if you are looking for regular help. Please feel free to text me to set up a time to talk about scheduling details/ questions.

Information Mary G. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know as much about your pet before my visit so I can do the best job possible. Especially if they have any health issues or behavioral concerns (eg. they're normally calm, but get stressed around other dogs on walks).

A typical day

A typical visit might include a potty break, walk, games, food and/or treats. I will walk your pet in your neighborhood, or take them to a nearby park if you prefer. If there are specific commands that you are working on with your dog, I'm happy to spend time practicing those, or tricks that you've already taught your dog. If your pet is staying with me, I will try to make a typical day as similar to what you do at home. I'm usually up very early, and home most of the day. If I'm gone, it's usually only for a few hours at a time max to go workout, run errands or visit my Dad. Since I currently don't have any pets of my own, I can usually adjust my schedule to fit your pets needs. This also is a great set up for younger pets that don't have all of their shots, senoir pets that need a more calm and quiet environment, or dogs that don't do well with other animals or young children.

Pet care experience

I have always loved animals, especially anything furry! We had a family dog when i was a kid, and I was a dog mom to two fur babies, Chopper (over 17) and Mumford (14) throughout my 20's and 30's. Taking care of my own dogs provided me with a wide range of experience - puppy training, post-surgery care, pill and liquid medicine administration, grooming, leash training, canine cognitive decline management, and end of life. Chopper and Mumford were more like family to me than pets, and when it came to the quality of their care, I treated them as such. If you choose to trust me with your fur baby(ies) please know that I will do the same for them! I am a very detailed-oriented and reliable person, and welcome detailed pet care instructions. My goal is to take care of your pet just as you would. I had Chopper when I was an undergraduate and in graduate school, and got Mumford later when I was working as a geologist in a corporate setting. I know how hard it can be to make it home to let out a puppy that's being house trained, squeeze in a walk before it gets too hot out, or find the energy to help your furry friend burn off some energy after a long day. I understand, I've been there, and I want to help! Now that my dogs have passed on, I miss spending time with animals, and would love to put that energy towards helping you with yours! I love to go on long walks and runs, and would be honored if I could spend that time with your fur baby. Of course, cuddles, playing, and practicing tricks and commands are also an option too!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our dog, Coco! Mary was thorough, communicative, and made Coco’s overnight stay as comfortable as possible. She sent lots of photos and videos, kept us updated, and gave Coco so much attention and cuddles. We could tell Coco had a great time and was well cared for the entire time. Mary’s communication was excellent, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

Mary was fantastic! I have a dog with bad separation anxiety and she did great at putting my dog at ease. Additionally she was great about sending updates which put me at ease as well. I definitely recommend Mary for your boarding needs and will book again for my next trip.
