Private One-Dog Care • BH

Hi — I provide private, one-dog-at-a-time care in a calm, controlled home environment. I’ve had dogs my entire life, including large and high-energy breeds like German Shepherds, so I’m very comfortable with their routines, behavior, and exercise needs. I focus on creating a relaxed, structured, low-stress environment where dogs feel safe and secure while their owners are away. Over the years, I’ve trained spirited dogs to be responsive and under control, including off-leash work and hand signals. I’m attentive, intuitive, and experienced in reading a dog’s energy and adjusting accordingly to keep them calm, engaged, and well cared for. I provide an orthopedic dog bed and elevated food bowls for your pooch's comfort.

Martin is amazing. I had never left my rescue pup before and my dog is quite a nervous guy. Martin not only took excellent care of him, multiple walks a day, sending me pictures and videos, giving him lots of attention and pets, but also he helped worked on my dog’s fear issues and, honestly, it made a huge difference! I am so grateful and highly recommend Martin!

Martin has been the best Rover Sitter that I’ve used, by far. We had a great meet and greet with my dog in the days leading up to it, where we talked about his history and his impressive life-long experience with dogs. That really gave me good peace of mind leaving my best friend with him for 8 nights. Over the course of his stay, Martin was very responsive and sent me pictures and videos every day. He also continued learning and understanding my dog’s quirks, habits, and what would be the best course of action in each scenario — Feeding, walking, giving physical attention, and when to leave him be and give him his space. I will absolutely book with Martin again on my next trip and would recommend him highly to anybody in the LA area that needs boarding services. I also appreciated the 1-on-1 attention as he only takes on one dog at a time. Thanks so much to Martin and Rover for the support!!

Doggy Day Care • Jun 15, 2026

Marty took care of our anxious mini poodle and we’d happily book with him again. He clearly loves dogs and has everything needed to make a canine comfortable. His calm presence soothed our anxious pup right away, a real feat for a dog with separation anxiety. His green neighborhood is perfect for walks, and he kindly was waiting for us outside promptly for drop off and pick up. And he took a lot of pictures during Gogo’s stay, which we really appreciate! He’s a super nice guy and Gogo was happy and calm after staying with him. We recommend him!

Martin was fantastic with our dog Otto. Otto can get nervous in new places and Martin took the time to make him comfortable and safe. He was very communicative and sent us lots of photos. We would absolutely leave Otto with him again.

I’ve known Marty for about six years, and in that time I’ve never seen anyone more devoted to their dog. They went everywhere together, and the bond between them was obvious to anyone who spent even a little time around them. What always stood out to me was how well-trained his dog was. Marty didn’t just love his dog—he invested the time and patience to train him at a very high level. I’ve seen him give a simple hand signal from a distance, and the dog would respond immediately. He could have his dog sit and stay from far away and not move until called. It was really impressive. Whenever we were out, Marty would always notice other people’s dogs. He’d ask what kind they were, want to pet them, and was genuinely curious about them. It wasn’t just casual—he has a real connection with animals. Dogs seem to instinctively trust him. There’s something about his calm presence and the way he interacts with them that they respond to right away. Beyond the training, it’s the affection and attention that really stand out. His dog was always happy, calm, and clearly felt secure and cared for. I’ve joked that Marty likes dogs more than people, and honestly, there’s probably some truth to that. I would trust him completely with any dog. Anyone who hires him is getting someone responsible, attentive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the animals in his care.

My brother Martin has been a dog lover his whole life. He grew up with dogs and has always treated and cared for them wonderfully. Whether it has been his own dogs, his friend's dogs, or just any dog he comes across, he seems to have an instant repour with them. He has nursed them through injuries and operations. Martin loves the playfulness of dogs and seems to bring out the best in any breed. I would highly recommend Martin to anyone that wants the best for that special member of their family.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a calm, clean, and controlled home environment with one dog at a time to ensure safety and attention. Dogs are supervised, taken out regularly for walks and bathroom breaks, and kept on a consistent routine based on your instructions. I only accept well-behaved, house-trained dogs and take time to understand each dog’s needs, personality, and comfort level. My goal is to create a safe, low-stress environment where your dog feels secure and well cared for.

A typical day

A typical day is tailored to each dog’s age, energy level, and personality. For senior dogs, I focus on calm, gentle walks where they can take their time, explore, and stay comfortable. For younger or more active dogs, I provide longer walks, light runs, or structured play like fetch or tug to help them burn energy in a controlled way. I also pay close attention to each dog’s behavior and needs, adjusting the pace and activities to keep them relaxed, engaged, and happy. My goal is to provide a safe, low-stress environment with consistent routines and one-on-one attention. For safety and health reasons, I avoid crowded dog parks and instead focus on clean, controlled settings.

I like to understand each dog’s individual needs ahead of time so I can provide the best care possible. This includes any medical conditions, medications, dietary preferences, feeding schedule, and portion sizes. I also want to know about their temperament—whether they’re reactive, anxious, or need to avoid other dogs entirely. It’s helpful to understand their routine, energy level, and what they enjoy, whether that’s walks, play, or just a calm environment. Every dog is different, so the more I know upfront, the better I can keep them safe, comfortable, and happy.
