But more than anything, my pets have given me a deep sense of purpose and taught me the meaning of kindness. For that, I’m endlessly grateful. I don’t see myself as their owner—they own me. I often say I rescued them from the pound, but the truth is, they rescued me. Their love and companionship have been life-changing. My love for animals goes beyond my own home. I regularly feed the cats and dogs in my neighborhood, especially during extreme weather. It’s something I do with joy, knowing that a small act of care can make a big difference. I have entrusted my two pups on numerous occasions with Martin. He does an excellent job taking care of them over the years. He’s very patient and takes care of my pups as if they are his own. Where do I begin? I had a family emergency in San Francisco and had to be away for several days. Before joining Rover, he kindly stepped in to care for my indoor pets and made sure my outdoor cats were well-fed and comfortable.
