I am currently working as a travel occupational therapist so my schedule is pretty flexible. I can be with the pets more often then not during the week and on weekdays!

When I meet someone I am sitting for the first time I like to ask lots of questions some of those include; What is your typical routine and how does your pet care fit into that? (times you wake up, when you feed them, when you leave for work...etc) I want to know this so I can simulate that routine so your pets are comfortable. I want to know about everything medical, psychological, dietary or other behaviors/sensitivities that would inform my care for your pets. I know its basic but how long can they be left at home, what are times they do they typically need the bathroom (can/how do they tell me that!), where do they sleep, are they allowed on the furniture...etc I also like to check if there are other house sitting things to take care of such as garbage/recycling, humidifiers...etc In the past I have found it easiest to have a list of preferences written that I can refer to throughout my time there!
A typical day
I prioritize providing loving companionship to pets while their owners are away this looks different for every pet sometimes its just hanging out with them at home other times its going outside for walks and games of fetch. I also love creating games that are mentally and physically challenges for pets. When it is appropriate I love the opportunity to take dogs/cats out into the community such as visits to memory care facilities, hospitals (if they are registered), schools and similar places where they can bring smiles to peoples faces.

Pet care experience
I am a positive, flexible, and empathetic person. I love working with animals and over the years have taken care of all types of dogs, cats and even chickens. Since I was 10, I house sat in my home neighborhood with friends and family relying on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. When I was attending university I house sat as a part time job. I made connections via word of mouth with multiple families in my community who trusted me to care for their pets throughout the 4 years I was in school. Most recently I house sat full-time through Rover as I studied for my certification exams. I absolutely love getting to know peoples pets and have a lot of experience doing so. I am confident when it comes to handling strong, energetic and finicky doggo's and I am always up to the challenge of gaining a cats trust.

Mariah was great, she kept us updated on our pups and so we didn’t have to worry at all and kept them happy and healthy while we were away. With a new puppy and both our pups still getting used to each other - she did an outstanding job! We’re so grateful and will definitely ask Mariah back to help us again! Thanks so much Mariah!!
Mariah was wonderful! She took great care of our pup while we were away! She is very responsible and great at communicating pictures and updates. We will for sure be using her again for future house/dog sitting needs!
Mariah stayed at my place for 2 weeks to take care of my dog and 2 cats while I was on vacation. She was able to form a connection with them instantly when she came for a visit before the 2 week stay, which made me extremely relieved. She gave me daily updates, sent pictures of the babies, and took absolutely terrific care of them! She went above and beyond to take care of the apartment, giving my pup baths, buying supplies like cat litter as needed. I can truly say that I was able to enjoy my vacation because I knew she is taking care of things while I was gone. I can’t recommend her enough!
Mariah is an incredibly reliable, attentive and passionate person. She is amazing with animals and has always taken the best care of my 4 legged friends.
