Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs ranging from 20lbs to 140lbs. I’ve had my cat for 5 years, and my ball python for 13, so I’m very familiar with a wide range of pets. I also worked in the veterinary industry for 2 years, so I am prepared to take care of pets that need regular medications and special care, including seniors. I have been the regular overnight caretaker for a dog in a busy downtown area for almost a year, so I understand the importance of regular walks and safe indoor play! I’ve also watched several of my friends’ reptiles over the years. I am very good at following a pet’s energy and can adapt to both playful and relaxed personalities, and everything in between.

Maria was fantastic from start to finish - sent frequent updates and was quick to respond throughout the sit. Hilton was loved on the whole time and I came home to a content pup! She also went above and beyond to clean up after herself and Hilton before we got home. We will definitely book with Maria in the future!

As I have a cat and a reptile, outdoor time is not a requirement for them. Growing up with dogs however meant that regular walks and outdoor playtime, whether that be leashed or fenced in, is an absolute pleasure to provide. I love when pets want to be right up in my business all hours of the day, and am equally happy with a pet that considers relaxation time to be a solo event.

Please let me know any regular medications that your pets take if I will be watching your pet during the time the medication is taking. For extended stays I would appreciate having the name of their primary veterinarian as well. Please also let me know if your pet has any triggers or dislikes, particularly for anything that may be encountered on a walk. Does your dog love other dogs and children, or are they better off avoided while out and about? My goal is to keep your pet as minimally stressed as possible while they’re missing you, so any further information about this will help out both me and them!
A typical day
I love playing tug of war and fetch with dogs that have the energy to play! Outside of walks, I will give plenty of belly rubs and love. Please let me know if there are any green ways/trails that your dog loves and I’ll be sure your pet is there to get an update on new smells!

Availability
I currently work remotely, and am able to spend most of my time at the house. Once a week or so I will need to head to the office for 4-6 hours, but can discuss those instances with clients as needed!
