Information Margaret D. would like to know about your pet

Before watching a pet, it’s good to know their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any medical info. Ask about their routine, temperament, and favorite toys or activities. Also, check if there are any house rules, like where they’re allowed to go. This helps make sure everything runs smoothly!

A typical day

A typical day with pets is full of fun and bonding. You start with feeding them and a morning walk, whether it’s a stroll for dogs or a play session with cats. Then, it's playtime—fetch for dogs or interactive toys for cats. You can even work on some tricks or simple training. Later, you’ll relax together, maybe cuddling on the couch while they unwind. A final walk in the evening helps them wind down, and then it’s time for dinner and more snuggles before bed. It’s all about keeping them active, engaged, and comfortable throughout the day!

Pet care experience

After experiencing the tragic loss of my own cats due to a negligent pet sitter, I became deeply committed to providing the highest level of care for all animals. That experience taught me how vital it is to entrust pets to someone who not only understands their needs but treats them like family. I specialize in senior pet care, offering compassionate support for aging pets, including administering medications, managing health conditions, and providing gentle, tailored exercise routines. I also have experience training puppies, helping them develop good behaviors early on and ensuring they have the structure they need to thrive. My focus is always on building trust and creating a safe, loving environment for your pets, so they feel comfortable and secure when you're away. Above all, I aim to offer peace of mind to pet owners, knowing their animals are in caring, responsible hands.

I was concerned from the outset as, contrary to their profile, they have 8 cats, not 2. They were upfront about this at our meet and greet but it should be in their profile to avoid wasting people's time if a dog has only limited tolerance for cats. I also wondered why they didn't want to do meet and greets in their home. When I dropped Sunny off, I learned why. Their apartment is absolutely filthy. I only saw a glimpse carrying Sunny into the apartment, but what I saw looked like very unsanitary conditions. Whether they have any problems with bedbugs or cockroaches, I don't know, but that should be a concern. On the other hand, I saw no evidence that Sunny was not well cared for. She looked happy in all the pictures and videos I received.

Margaret was very kind and responsive while setting up our dog's stay. However, when we got to her place we decided we weren't going to leave our dog with her. It has nothing to do with the care I thought she could provide for my dog, but her home situation. It is a very small, very cluttered studio apartment. It looked very hard to walk through as a human, much less my dog, their two cats and the two other dogs they were watching. It also appeared dirty and they definitely smoke inside. It just didn't feel like a good environment for my dog. Again, very kind woman and probably would do a great job if the living conditions were different.
