I have been taking care of pets since I was very young, including owning cats, dogs, horses, and cattle. I sincerely cherish every animal I am introduced to and strive to ensure they feel comfortable and loved. I have experience with basic canine behavior and training and have also worked in veterinary clinics for over 5 years, which provided a wealth of experience I bring to each pet I have the opportunity to care for. I am comfortable with many different temperaments and am able to administer medications if your pet requires additional care. I am an extremely active person, so there will be no shortage of activity for your fur-baby! Whether you are a pet parent to a Great Dane or a Munchkin cat, I treat each of them as if they were my own!

First, I’d like to say that Maddison is phenomenal! She communicated well with us and has a background in taking care of lots of different pets, she took care of our dog and cat like they were her own and watched our house while we were gone. She left our house clean and tidy, took extra care and attention to our pets schedules, and sent lots of photos and updates. I highly recommend booking with Maddison. She was thoughtful and respectful. Our pets were happy and well cared for while we were away, we will definitely be re-booking with her down the line when we need pet care for our next holiday!
Maddison did an excellent job with my dogs. They loved her as soon as they met her. She took my puppy for a nice long walk, checked in with me before and after as well as sending pictures. 10 out of 10!

I am more than capable of overnight stays or late-night check-ins to ensure your pets feel most comfortable with a change in routine. I provide as many walks, hours of playtime, treats, and bouts of attention possible to ensure your pet never feels bored or lonely. I am able to provide basic training for pets if desired, which ensures no "bad habits" develop while you are away. If your pet is comfortable in the car, there are many dog runs on the outskirts of Helena that provide a great place for your pup to burn off energy and get lots of fresh air. I like to make sure that they are let out frequently throughout the day to ensure no accidents occur in the house - or if they do, that they are well-cleaned right away so you do not come home to any unpleasantries. I am flexible and adaptable to what is best for your fur-baby and will also send lots of pictures so you never feel like you are too far away!

If you are aware that your pet changes their typical behavior when you are gone, I would prefer to have notice so that I can make adjustments to my behavior upon greeting and getting to know them. Dogs' body language can be much easier to read than cats, but it is still good to know! I am comfortable working with pets who can be temperamental and do not shy away unless their behavior becomes dangerous. I have training which can provide tools for me to use when dealing with an anxious or nervous pet, so I am comfortable handling most cases.
A typical day
I understand the importance of mental stimulation for both dogs and cats, especially when there is a change in routine. I love using the dog runs on the outside of Helena to give your pups a chance to work off energy and use their nose to de-stress with new smells. I like to use puzzle toys which allows your pet's brain to be stimulated and rewarded at the same time. Surprisingly, cats sometimes seem to enjoy them more than dogs do! Whether it is walking around the neighborhood, playing in the backyard, or having a game of hide-and-seek I am ready to use all my tools to entertain your pet!

I am currently enrolled in an online graduate program which allows for a very flexible pet-sitting schedule. I am available during the week and on weekends, and am open to overnight stays if your pet needs more comfort while you are away.
