Walks and Drop-Ins When You're Away
Pet care experience
Hello, pet people! I took a 5-year hiatus from Rover due to some life changes, but I'm back to offering walks and drop ins. If your work schedule and busy life are keeping you from giving your pup the exercise and attention they need, I'm here to help. Pets have always been a part of my life. Currently, our family has two birds and one dog: a 26-pound Mini Pinscher mix that keeps us on our toes. Professionally, I'm a freelance pet journalist, and I've covered everything from "enforced puppy naps" to "touch sensitivity" and beyond. While I'm certainly enthusiastic about meeting any dog or cat, I also understand some pets need a gentler approach. Every dog (and cat) is an individual, with their own unique preferences and personality. That's why I'll spend some time getting to know them at our first meet-and-greet.

Reviews

Thank you for caring for my cat. I think she enjoyed her stay. I really appreciated the pics! Thanks so much!

Leo always has a great time with Liz! We look forward to bringing him back again!

Liz and her family provided a warm and super-dog-friendly visit. thanks again!

Liz and her family were the perfect sitters for Cheech! She was super accommodating and helpful, and I felt completely confident that my dog was in good hands. She made sure everything was just as my pup was used too and that I was comfortable with another dog being in the house. We watched them play together and it turned out great. My dog obviously loved his time there, seemed at ease and happy when I picked him up. Anyone who gets Liz to watch their pup is lucky indeed!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety on walks is my top priority. I'll make sure harnesses are properly fitted, leashes are secure, and water is available. I also check for hot pavement in warm months, snow salt in cold months, and slippery conditions in rainy, mucky weather. If your dog is reactive on leash, we can talk strategy (avoiding other dogs or triggers). And if your dog has a high prey drive like mine, I'll keep an eye out for rascally squirrels.

Information Liz C. would like to know about your pet
I don't have any particular breed or size preferences. However, if your dog is very large and an extreme puller, I'll need to make sure I can control them. A few details from you help me offer the best services: 1. Is your dog up-to-date on all of their shots? (*REQUIRED*) 2. Any medical/allergy conditions I should be aware of? 3. How does your dog react to other dogs on walks? Other people? Kids? 4. Do they have a high prey drive/like to chase critters they encounter? 5. Okay to offer treats?
A typical day
For check-ins, I can: - Refill food bowls (kibble, wet food, or fresh) - Refresh water bowls - Let pups go potty; clean up #2s - Play! We can do indoor play, outdoor play, a bit of both! - Give them all the hugs, cuddles, and pettings they want - (for cats) Scoop litter boxes - Give any medication, if necessary For walks, I can: - Let pups go potty, clean up #2s - Walk for a full 30 minutes - Give them plenty of time to sniff and decompress - Send you pictures of our good time together :)

Availability
I do freelance work from home, so my schedule is very flexible. I can pop in for a check-in or "sniffari" walk when it works best for your pooch: mornings, afternoons, or early evenings. If you'd like to establish a weekly schedule, we can work that out, too!
