I have had pets of my own for years (first a cat and then a small dog). I currently don't have any so I get my opportunities for spending time with animals through housesitting and dog walking. I have been housesitting for past year and a half through a different service and had great experience. I've watched many different kinds of dogs including puppies. I also tend to get along well and feel very attuned to animals who have anxiety and some reactivity. I have experience taking care of older dogs and pets that need medication. I am pretty active and love walking so I'm happy to provide a lot of opportunities for movement for active dogs. However, I'm just as comfortable with older/less active dogs who prefer to stay in and rest more.

I am happy to provide as much or as little exercise as your pet needs. I have experience taking care of anxious and reactive dogs, watching puppies and doing sits for dogs who are older. I am comfortable administering medication. I don't mind cleaning occasional messes or potty accidents. My strong no is letting dogs sleep with me on the bed, that is not something I'm very comfortable with.

I'd like to know about your dog's needs and temperament ahead of time. It's important for me to know if they take any medications, have mobility issues or behavioral problems. I'd like to know how your dog does on the leash, if they are reactive to people, cars, other dogs etc.
A typical day
I love walking so I will be happy to provide long walks. If there are trails close by that's a great option and I will also happily spend time exercising and playing with your dog at the dog park. If there is a yard I'm always down to throw a ball around and play fetch.

Availability
I am a self-employed artists so I usually work from home and my schedule is very flexible. I do, however, prefer to have at least a couple day notice before sits or walks so that I can base my schedule around that.
