Pet care experience

Your furry friend’s new bestie!

Hi, my name is Lee and I’m a recent architecture college graduate in the midst of transitioning between school and the work world. Growing up, I cared for many species of animals such as cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and butterflies. I currently live with an orange tabby named Rosie who’s 10 and a little spicy. I have cared for and pet sat cats and dogs of friends and family for several years. I helped my sibling foster 4 kittens. I walked dogs ages two to fourteen and from 12lbs to 80lbs. No matter the size, I enjoy carrying for fur babies, while making sure each animal is comfortable, safe, and happy.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I appreciate owners who provide detailed information on routines and care, so I can provide best for their pet as to ensure comfort and consistency. I have cared for cats and dogs from 5lbs to 80lbs and from elderly to energetic. I enjoy taking dogs out for regular walks, whether it’s just to get them out of the house or to tire them out. Usually I walk one pup at a time, but I have walked two medium size dogs (40-50lbs each) from the same household together. Some of the dogs I have cared for have been unfazed by people or other pets, while others have been well trained but anxious or potentially reactive to others dogs, requiring a soft muzzle. On overnights and drop-ins, the dogs I have cared for have had various diets, including raw food, kibble, and fruits/vegetables (as treats). I’ve had pets that required separate meals, unique rituals around meals, or specific supplements/pill medications at meals. Some households have asked I crate their dogs at night, while others have pups that want to be in whichever room I sleep.

I have known Lee for over 10 years and I highly recommend him for any and all pet and home care. Lee has watched our dog and stayed in our home many times and is always attentive, timely and communicative. Lee pays extra attention to details specific to our dog's care and when issues arose that seemed out of the ordinary with our dog's routine, he was quick to alert us and ask questions. I have recommended Lee to many families and all of them have been pleased and rehired him. I have no doubt he will be exactly what you and your pet need.

Highly recommend Lee for any dog sitting or dog walking needs. Lee has taken care of our two dogs, staying at our house for multiple days. Our dogs can be challenging; one with behavioral issues and one that is very old. Lee is competent, calm, dependable, trustworthy, and our dogs love Lee.

Lee has watched my dog, Phoebe, at our home on several overnight stays. Lee sends daily updates with photos and makes sure my picky eater has her food prepared just the way she wants it. When we return home Lee has made sure our home is clean, washes the sheets and even prepares food for Phoebe. Lee makes going on vacation so much easier knowing Phoebe is well cared for.

A couple things I like to know about your pets ahead of time, so I can best care for them: What are their normal routines? (ie. Walk times/length, meals + quantities, treats, sleep/hiding locations, basic meds, reinforcement style/commands) What is your pet’s personality like? (Friendly to all, fearful/anxious, any reactive behaviors, escape artist, training experience, favorite toys, etc) What do I need to access your home and furry friend? (Keys, garage codes) If I’m house sitting or dropping in I appreciate mentioning any house rules like any off limit areas for myself or the pets, as well as acceptable heating/cooling inside and what amenities should I avoid using (bathrooms, water pitcher, appliances). I do require that I am provided contact info to reach you, a local friend or neighbor who can help in an emergency, the number of your vet, and the number of a preferred emergency vet. Lastly, let me know how often, if you’d like updates and/or photos of your pets whether that be daily or a couple times a week. It is always preferable to do a meet and greet beforehand to see if it’s the right fit for everyone.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
