Kind, caring, and active pet-lover!

Pet care experience

Growing up, my very first chores were dog- related, so animal care has always been integral in my life. While I sadly no longer have any furry friends of my own, I am an animal person at heart. I’ve pet-sat for family, neighbors, friends, Rover clients, for pets of all breeds and sizes, and I’m very comfortable around any dogs. I grew up with 2 German-shorthaired pointers, and I was responsible for their care daily before and after school. As we (me and the dogs!) all got older, I was the primary caretaker of them in their senior years, so I’m very familiar with the struggles and ailments that come with elderly dogs. I am strong enough to lift most dogs if stairs are any issue- our dogs were around 60-70lbs. I have had roommates with cats who I’ve become very close with. I’ve always loved cats, so learning to care for them and earning their trust was so exciting. I’ve cared for the cats for a week’s time before, so would feel comfortable caring for cats as well. I love pet sitting- it’s nice to have a furry friend to visit since I lack one in my own family at the moment! Any client of mine gets all the pets and attention they could ever dream up. I am also very active, and I walk or run every day, so having a companion there is a bonus for us both! I look forward to your consideration, and if you have any questions about my experience or anything please let me know.

Lauren has been incredible with our dog! She's sensitive to his needs, highly communicative, and clearly gets joy from spending time with him. Absolutely recommended!

Lauren was amazing with our dog! She was very communicative from beginning to end, and we felt Zoey was in great hands. Thank you!

Max came home from his week with Lauren exhausted- but super happy and lots of tail wags. It was really nice to know that he was still getting lots of love and activity while we were gone, it put my mind at ease. It was like sending him to summer camp while I’m vacationing!

Lauren is an incredibly attentive and loving pet caregiver. She follows guidance, especially when it comes to giving medication and timing of my bella's medical needs. She is a gift to any pet mom out there!

Safety, trust & environment

Depending on the comfort of each pet, I always spend some time introducing myself and getting to know them at first. Spend some time petting them and getting them comfortable with my presence in their space, and next playing with them if they’re up for it. Once they know they can trust me, we’ll take the day ahead together and they’ll alternate resting, playing with toys, and walking outside. I also love to share photos with owners, so I’ll be sure to keep you posted on what we’re up to.

Information Lauren J. would like to know about your pet

Any special needs, triggers, likes/dislikes are all good to know. Something really helpful would be to hear about what a normal day/night or even entire week’s schedule looks like for your dog so we can do our best to replicate it!

A typical day

I love to get physical with dogs, whether that means fetch, frisbee, tug of war, or just riling them up and chasing them around, that’s my sort of activity. I do like to try to engage dogs in more mental activities- practicing any tricks, lots of talking to as if they could respond, but of course varies by dog and their attention and personalities.
